MalfeasBreakoutTheories
Tear the roof off the sucka
- There was a thread on the White Wolf forum about the Yozi and how the would escape. I liked a lot of the theories and, in the vein of ScarletEmpressTheories I created this page to facilitate them.
Any one can contribute an idea as long as its not those boring "summon the yozi through a giant sacrifice" or "i rip a whole in creation big enough to let a Yozi through" (Not to say that those are necessarily bad they're just not canonically possible)
- The Yozi, instead of escaping into creation are hell-bent on sucking creation into Malfeas. - Paladinltd
- They can not escape into creation. its simply impossible so instead they intend to rule from afar using the newly returned Scarlet Empress - Paladinltd
- The Games of Divinity is not just a highly addictive game: It is the tool behind the Yozi's escape. Whomever wins the current game will be juxtoposed with the Yozi. - Paladinltd
- The Fifty captive solar essences will be used to create an Infernal Exalted army to storm the Jade Pleasure Dome and force the Unconquered sun to summon the Yozi. - Paladinltd
- The Fifty Solar essences will be tainted wholly with the madness of the Yozi. then the Ebon Dragon will force the Unconquered sun to reunite with the shards of his soul, thus corrupting him. - Paladinltd
- The Fifty solar essences will be used as a strike force to enter Yu-Shan and corrupt the Loom of Fate. The Yozi will be allowed to enter this new creation - Paladinltd
- They will wait for the deatlords to plunge creation into the underworld. Not being prevented from entering the Underworld they attempt to wrest control of it from their dead brothers. - Paladinltd
- The Yozi's are trying to get the Wyld to overrun creation, which changes it enough they can enter, and push the Wyld back(most in creation would probably not consider this an improvement). Hey, it almost worked once...and they got their revenge for being foiled. --FlowsLikeBits
- the Games of Divinity are secretly rigged with some kind of superbomb(happy fifth billionth move Sol Invictus!). After that... well we haven't thought that far - Paladinltd
- If they get ahold of Exalted soul shards outside of human bodies, the Yozis can do amazing things with them - including removing the "programming" that prevents them from Exalting non-humans. Once the Ebon Dragon (and maybe some of his allied Yozis) finishes corrupting all 50 Essences, he's going to use them on his own third-circle souls. Since the Exalted are allowed to roam free in Creation, this will effectively free him from Malfeas - by altering himself to be on the side that won the Primordial War. -Everyl
- The Yozis don't particularly like each other, and are actually plotting against one another to escape. The faction with the 50 Solar shards plans to use the resulting Infernal Exalted to kill Malfeas and Cecylene, turning them both into Malfeans. This will change their nature enough that the oaths that bind the other Yozis to them will no longer be valid. The Yozis aren't sure if this will let them re-enter Creation, but it should at least grant them freedom in the Underworld and the Wyld - much better positions to send minions into Creation from. -Everyl
- Some of the Yozi are desperate enough to try and escape through as a mortal. It would require sacrificing all the ambient souls and whittling down the Fetich to a fraction of what it was. The resultant being would be awesomely powerful, but nontheless mortal. - Paladinltd
- Let's go all out, shall we? The Yozis have already escaped. In fact, they've been out for years. The usurpation? BAD IDEA. The murder of the Solars pissed good ole Sol Invictus off so much that he turned his back on the world, literally, and all the Yozis just sauntered back into Creation. The other Celestial gods fled and now are out in the wyld, clustered around the protective power of the Unconquered Sun, trying to convince him Achilles-style that he really, really ought to give Creation a second chance. Of course, Sol is having too much fun with his new Fae concubines - Fair Folk shaped by his presence into shining, beuteaus angels of light and glory - to give a damn about the old mudball. The current lousy state of Creation has got to do with the fact that the Yozis are ruling from behind the scenes. Solar visions all come from Yozis, which is why they all lead to tragedy. The Sidereals' orders come from the same place, even Kejop Chejak's. Most Lunars are really chosen by the Yozis (Luna's canny; she sneaks into Creation from time to time), which is why so many of them are bloodthirsty maniacs. The Scarlet Empress? Definately an Infernal Exalt, and her dissappearance is onyl a part of the game, a preparation for the true rulers of Creation to step out into the open. Aside from a few Siderals and the odd Lunar, only the Abyssals and their masters know the truth, and they only tell it when it convinces others to join them. After all, even if the Yozis rule, the Malfeans still haven't won. -Seraph
- (Blame or thank Seraph for this one). Actually, the Yozi's don't want to enter creation. They HATE Creation and are much happier where they are. Creation has all sorts of weird stuff that is totally alien to them and drives them crazy. The fact that most think they want to enter creation is just self-centeredness on the part of the people who live there. Unfortunatly, summoning(third circle demons especially) brings a part of them in and brings Malfeas and Creation closer together. This is why demons mess with their summoners, to discourage future summonings, hasn't worked yet though. Unfortunaly, there doesn't seem to be much they can do, other than kill all the sorcerers. They intend to use the Infernal Exalted to get the attention of the UCS and re-negotiate their treaty so they can be left alone. (Maybe they got their own games :D ) --FlowsLikeBits
- The Yozis couldn't care less about Creation; it's beneath their notice. They don't even hold a grudge against the Celestines, who they see as simply the tools Gaia and Autochthon used to win a squabble over territory. They're a little bitter about being locked away, but they wouldn't even care about that if they could just get out into the Wyld and restore themselves to their former glory. Then maybe they'd just make a newer, better Creation with minions who'll actually behave themselves this time and never trouble Gaia's Creation again. Their current plan is to stir up trouble and generally make nuisances of themselves until they're told to just go away already. --Everyl
- How's this? The Yozis are all dead. All of them. Not even all of them ended up Malfeans; most of them just faded away. There is a Malfeas, but it's a yozi's dead shell. There are powerful forces of nature echoing in that shell, but they are just that, echoes of long-dead beings. There are demons, but they are leaderless, their power broken. The Yozis are a lie the Celestines tell to keep the other gods in line, that's all. -Seraph
- The Yozis re-entrance requires not a big hole in Creation per se, but rather a sufficiently large disruption of the tapestry of fate. For this, they need large numbers of beings operating outside of fate in Creation, i.e. Abyssals, Raksha, Powerful Demons, Ghosts, and even Autochthonians. Especially beneficial will be the long-awaited 50 Infernal Exalts, beings not only outside of fate, but able and willing to summon large numbers of aforementioned powerful demons, stir up the abyssals and the raksha to do anything in Creation, and, once they find out about their traitorous brother's followers, encourage and aid the Locust Crusade.
The Malfeans were approaached in the plan to open the Jade Prison, and such a large number of Solar Shards promised to them, because the Yozis knew that their dead kin would begin to act immediately, sending out their new toys into the world to wreak what havoc they would. As this fit perfectly with the Yozi's intent, the price was minimal. The Fair Folk are easy to stir up with more talk of a new Baloran Crusade (And who was Thief of Words, really?).
Also, with the Scarlet Empress conveniently ensconced in the Ebon Dragon's tender care, the Scarlet Dynasty is willing to use any tools at its disposal, c.f. Mnemon's frequent and heavy use of demons for all sorts of devious ploty type tasks. Meanwhile, Ms. Scarlet, having been a devout demonologist for so many years, has now slipped outside of fate herself, and provides the perfect vessel for... something... to be introduced to the world (particularly nasty demons, born to Creation, and thus not barred from it, perhaps? or maybe, in fact, those 50 Infernal essences, being sent packet-like to burst out and grab the most likely candidates for the really big party...) -Suzume - The Games of Divinity? It is a Yozi. Or rather, it's a primordial who's loyal to his exiled kin. In the early times he was the archetype of all entertainers, an inventor of infinite delights for his brothers and sisters. Everyones best friend. The Celestines foolishly thought he was a mere thing, a game to be stolen and used. All these years he's been playing along, drawing the gods deeper into his addiction. Soon, he'll start making demands of them...and it's not hard to predict what these demands will be. -- Xarak
- The Primordials...it's not an entirely accurate name. They weren't the first beings to emerge from whence they came, or at least, not the primary ones, concepts of time being rather abstract in such a context. In fact, the Primordials are more like little kids who went out to play one day and got into a bit of a scrape. All they need to do is get word to dad and he'll come and sort things out. This will involve one of the Creation-born jouneying deep, deep, deep into the Wyld, past the Courts of the Unshaped and beyond, beyond. He'd have to be an Exalt obviously, probably a Solar in power level, in fact, better send about 50 just to be sure. Hence, the Infernals. -- Xarak
- The Yozis aren't trying to get out. They've become massively depressed at being forced to surrender to their own creations, and are only half-heartedly struggling now. Most, if not all, of them have decided that they'd be better off dead. They can't kill themselves, though, since doing so requires devouring their Essence away - and moving it from one soul to another just doesn't cut it. So they got enough Solar shards to force them to do it. They aren't quite clear on just how much it sucks to be a Malfean, but, as they figure it, anything's better than being stuck alive but nearly powerless forever. (Everyl)
- The 50 Solar essences will be used as a bribe. Who knows what the Raksha could do with such power? Creation is about to find out, because in exchange for an oath of eternal alliance, the Yozis are going to hand them right over to them. -- Xarak
- The entire Primordial war was a sham, an internal struggle among the Yozi's to allow one fraction to get rid of it's rivals and make the Celestines do their job of looking after Creation without bugging their betters. Thus, the winning side wiped out their rivals and gave the Celestine's an old version of the GoD to keep them occupied while the winning side gets to play in peace in Malfeas. It worked, the Celestines havn't bothered them since. They allow demon summoning as it gives them way to keep tabs on creation without actually wasting essence sending observers themselves(that could affect my next move, you see), and they are slighly curious. Unfortunaly, the nature of the Yozi's is toward fractions, so it's happening again. The Infernal Exalted are just an opening gamibit(and Exalts were kinda kool). Their struggle might not affect creation this time though...maybe. Everyone kinda laughs at the poor Ebon Dragon though(oooh...one terrestrial...I'm so scared...) --FlowsLikeBits
- During the Great Contagation one group of Yozi actually blew through the Underword; though a gate to Yu-shan that was in the Underworld, and from there they jumped directly to the Jade Pleasure Dome(the inside of which, technically, isn't in Creation, thus they never entered it), killed the Celestines and resumed playing. Anytime a spirt comes into the Dome one assumes the shape of Sol Invictus and stares at them until they leave using the Grandfather of Solar social charms. Much like the Malfeans, you can't kill god's that easily, thus the sky still works and Exalts still get some visions.(If the Exalts and Deathlords ever put this together, it would be rather ironic) The ones that got left behind in Malfeas are fairly angry about this(these are the cannon Yozi's) and have been plotting for revenge.(This is where the Infernals & Empress come in) --FlowsLikeBits
- The Yozis are too ambitious to simply destroy Creation. Instead, they wish to corrupt it so thoroughly (through use of the Church of Baalor and their own Exalts) that the concept of death itself is sundered or else changed out of recognition. In the process, their dead kin will be reborn as something else, the core of their essence changed. The Underworld will thus become more acquiescent to their arrival which, owing to the Underworld being partially separated from Creation, is not forbidden by ancient vows...DeathBySurfeit

My favorites listed are 2 and 10. The scenarios involving the Games of Divinity being booby trapped don't appeal to me. - Raindoll
- I don't like it either but the idea keeps bouncing around inside my skull
- Also I like the Big hole theory Suzume. - Paladinltd
- ^_^ You're welcome! -Suzume
*Wonders who made #18 and #19* -Everyl
- That'd be me ^_^ And now another... -- Xarak
I'll posit my own theory as soon as it stops being the focus of my campaign, or else Darloth and co work it out...DeathBySurfeit, who has now posted it
Well.. My own theory goes like this: It is often said in a later age that the world is broken, and it has to be destroyed, so it can be rebuilt /properly/. Now. factor in that the Yozi's have sworn 'never to re-enter creation' and tthat they were the ones who built creation in the first place, it might be reasonable to assume, instead: they want the wyld to swallow creation, destroying it, thus invalidating the only thing that keeps them trapped: then, of course, they can build it again, reality 2.0, without the bugs of reality 1.0.
