Recruitment
So, anyone on this lovely wiki interested in playing in a web game run by yours truly? The game is tentatively scheduled to take place between the hours of 8 and 11-12 on Thursdays, in a to-be-determined chat format. Characters will be some of the Dragon-Blooded of Scarlet Haven, exploring a changed Creation. I'm looking for 2-4 more players; other information will be located both here and at this thread. - FrivYeti
What edition is this going to be in? - MoonSword
- This also peaks my interest, Friv. I noticed you mentioned tuesdays or thursdays over at Freedom Stone, and it's a rare thing for me to work both of those nights in a single week, so it would appear I'm ok, scheduling wise.-Ambisinister
- Second Edition Dragon-Blooded, with a few minor houserules here and there. - FrivYeti
When giving time references, a timezone is always appreciated.
-- Darloth
Da. For Example, I anticipate as I am in GMT, I suspect that no matter how intersted I am, There is little point in doing anything other than applauding the idea.... :) - Molikai
- Pssh. Timezones are for wimps and people with common sense, and clearly I am neither. The timezone in question is EST. - FrivYeti
Which is.. *thinks* 1 AM - 5 AM for me. As I thought.. *applaughs idea* :) - Molikai
Well, sounds fun. Count me in if you don't mind a new player. I'll put pen to paper and see what I can come up with as far as a character's concerned. Probably either a soldier or a sorcerer; I'm not too fond of the Immaculate Philosophy and I'm not sure I could play a protagonist Immaculate with a straight face. - MoonSword
- New players are always fun, provided I get enough total players to get the game underway. ;)
For everyone interested, you can post a character sheet here, in the Freedom Stone Forums, or you can email me at m_handman@hotmail.com . I'd like folks to email me with their own contact info, so that we can use direct email and chat for any problems. :) - FrivYeti
Hi! This game certainly looks interesting, but are you still accepting applicants? I'd love to be considered if you are! ~WillCoon
- I've got five theoreticals at the moment, only two of which have submitted sheets. Either way, I can take up to six, so you can definately write a sheet up. :) - FrivYeti
In an attempt to get this game running, I'm officially declaring the start date to be this Thursday, November 16th, at 8 P.M. EST. We will be meeting in the Freedom Stone Chat Room, starting in the main room, and probably shifting over to a private chat room once everyone arrives.
I will also be in the chat on Tuesday, also at 8 PM EST, for any character discussions / brainstorming that people who haven't finished characters want to do.
- Uhm, Friv, problem here. My account's not activated at Freedom Stone. Could we make alternative arrangements? - MoonSword
Commentary
Where are you, Friv? We assumed you were dead, but you're on the Wiki, so... -WillCoon
- Sorry, I made a post over at Freedom Stone, and didn't think to post here. My internet was down for most of Thursday, including during the session. Shouldn't happen again (at least, it had better not). I am still alive. - FrivYeti
- Hee, sorry, didn't see the post (don't frequent those forums much), but yeah, you should probably make sure other party members know about that (assuming you have their email etc.). Also, it looks like Thanksgiving might not be great for everyone, so... ~WillCoon, still looking forward to the game anyway despite God's clear opposition.
I just want to say that this is an extremely interesting idea, very interesting. I eagerly await updates and more information on the setting. By the way, I was wondering if you could possibly post your ST notes. I know that you have players who visit this site, but I find that it would be extremely interesting to read. -Heru
- Heck, he's got players who publish stuff on this site. - MoonSword
Guys, we're playing this Thursday, right? Where was everyone but Friv and I lask week? - MoonSword
- Thanks, you beat me to it. Just confirming: Thursday, November 30th, 8:00 E.S.T. The Freedom Stone chat room, which does not, to my knowledge, require forum membership. Be there. - FrivYeti
- It doesn't, no. Not that this is a problem for me anymore. I got Seras to confirm it two weeks back. *evil grin*
So I was thinking, maybe we should run the game in two rooms, an OOC one and an IC one. That will help to preserve the integrity of the IC chat logs.-Ambisinister
Friv, if we are running tonight, it is conceivable that I may be a little late (around an hour or so to be precise.) I have a long, multi-state drive ahead of me and I don't think i'll be able to leave as early as I'd like. Just giving you a heads up.-Ambisinister
Whoops. Sorry about last week, I literally forgot all about it. I'll be there this time. - MoonSword
Unfortunately I've been called into work tonight (1/25) and will be unable to make game (I'll probably be in work until about 11 PM Eastern) Seeing as we've had horrendous fortune with our schedule of late, I would not be offended in the slightest if you elected to run without me, so if that's amenable to the group, then by all means go ahead. That's all I've got to report.- Ambisinister
High five again to everyone for our third session. Also Friv - didn't you suggest two rooms in future? Would certainly cut down on the IC/OOC chatlog separation work... Just noting it 'cause you've displayed a heroic effort on session three's log. ~WillCoon
- We could give it a shot. I'm only concerned about delays happening due to the need to hop back and forth between rooms. - FrivYeti
Hey guys. A load of work has just crash landed on me, so I probably won't be able to make it to tomorrow's game. Really sorry, so due to concerns of momentum, late notice, etc., please feel free to go ahead without me (just assume I don't die or am in a restful coma or whatever). ~WillCoon, sorry. Also crossposted to TFS.
- Cool session, sorry I missed it! Good job making Friv think of new ways to kill us. ~WillCoon
Right, so my jerk bosses rescheduled me again. Good news is I'll be able to make the session this time. Bad news is I'll be late. I should be here around 830-900 PM EST.Go on and get started without me.-Ambisinister
Whoops. I've managed to forget completely the last few games, I'm sorry. My life's been kind of stressful lately and I've had a lot of other stuff on my mind. Again, sorry. - MoonSword
- I wouldn't get too distraught over it. Freedom Stones chat forum is down and we haven't run since it went down (two sessions I believe)-Ambisinister
Bad news, I'm afraid. Fell today and landed mostly on my right hand (on pavement). It's not bad, but I'm typing with just the left, which is not my good hand. So due to very slow typing speed, I am not going to be online tonight. Next week. AIM. It will happen. - FrivYeti
Right, so I'm finally getting around to seeing 300 my buddies, and it's happening tonight (3/22/07) at 7PM EST. So I won't be able to make it until between 9 and 930 EST. I'll be late, but I'll be there! Feel free to start without me.-Ambisinister
There must be someone working against us. The rehersal schedule for the show I'm working on was changed around from tonight (wed) to tomorrow (thursday). While it is conceivable that I'll have internet access, I can make no promises. As an alternative, my Friday night is open, if folks are up for that. -Ambisinister
- My Friday night is not open, so that's a no-go, sorry. Argh, stupid fate. - FrivYeti
After a brief chat with my players, we have agreed that an extra player or two would be very nice for stability purposes (when you have a small player base, one person being absent sort of shuts the session down).
To that end, anyone who's around Thursday nights from 8 PM EST to 12ish and is interested in playing a 2e Dragon-Blooded game, take a look at the info up above and announce your interest.
Pretty please? :D - FrivYeti
- You're welcome. - TheHoverpope
I'd be a good fit, in some sense, if it were a bit earlier - I'm a full-time professional with a reasonably stable schedule. It just happens to start at 6AM daily, so the midnight kindof is unworkable. 11PM EST I could see... if you get desperate enough, give me a bump. -- GreenLantern
I've had a research presentation crop up this Thursday. We're just putting up an example display of the enterprise GIS implementation we're doing (using ArcIMS from ESRI, if anyone's curious) but I've been volunteered to man the display. I'm not sure I can worm out of it and, unfortunately, I'm one of the people who's more familiar with the ArcIMS implementation we're showing off. http://www.westga.edu/index_904.php - MoonSword
- Wait, never mind. Someone else is doing the presentation. The professor was understanding when I explained I had prior commitments and, since my part of the ArcIMS presentation is mainly moving a mouse on a website, that's not really an issue. My partner on the server end and I are putting a pretty self-explanatory index together so that anyone can just look at the index and poke around without needing a guided tour. - MoonSword
- I must admit, when I looked at this, I was dumbfounded ... then I read your second edit, and I breathed a sigh of rola^H^H^Helief. Congrats on dodgning that bullet ^ ^; ~WillCoon
- Heh. Part of it is that the server end involved me spending ten hours in the lab since yesterday morning installing and configuring said server. Then, after the server was installed, I had to design the maps and such. My partner, who was busy until this afternoon (and understandably so; I don't have a job and he works on the geology department's electron microscope), did the web design end while I got the maps running and looking right. Without those ten hours, and his help on the web design (my efforts would have taken about ten times as long and been of far less quality ;) ), the presentation wouldn't have come together. - MoonSword
- Well, thanks. I appreciate your effort. : ) ~WillCoon
And a rough character is ready to go. Hoo-ray! - TheHoverpope
- You've been spending too much time on Wikipedia. That quad-tilde trick doesn't work here ;). I fixed your signature. - MoonSword
- I blame the WWWkiki. Curses! - TheHoverpope who will add four tildes anyways. Wordman 19:15, 8 June 2010 (UTC)FrivYeti/I>
Right team. Good news/bad news time. Bad news: I have to work tonight. Good News: I have the internets at work. Bad News: The connection I have is a little sporadic. Good News: I'll actually have the time to make use of it. Net Result: I should be on around 8ish (start without me) and should be able to participate till around 10:30 or 11, which is when works ends. That is all, which luck and smiling fortune I'll see you all later.-Ambisinister, 4/19/07
Sometimes I wish I was competently poly-lingual so I'd have some variety in the expletives at my disposal. At my place of work we determine our schedules in the neighborhood of three weeks in advance. Three weeks ago we were still running on Thursdays and as a consquence I did not sign up for any shifts this Thursday. I did, however, sign up for shifts on Monday. After speaking to my boss, it seems like I'll be stuck at work until 10 or 11(EST). No fun for Ambisinister tonight. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Try not to die without me.-Ambisinister (4/30/07)
Hey guys. Sorry, it's my turn. Looks like my travel plans for tomorrow night will leave me in transit during our game. Friv has suggested that a full group would be best for the meeting with Yukong... so if you don't want to delay the game, then perhaps Friv has some complications planned along the way, or I could just give him a few general guidelines for what I want the Figurine of Wonderous Skein to attempt during the meeting. ~ WillCoon, sorry :( (also I changed the blurb above to reflect our current medium)
Hi all. I might be a little late tonight - or I might have to duck out for a short time. Sorry, but I'll get there! ~ WillCoon
Regretably, I have some traveling to do tonight, so I cannot guarantee an appearance, let a lone a timely one. Fortunately, I suppose, in a round about way, the plan is for you guys to implement plan "Lynx the Impious" which Hailey doesn't approve of and wouldn't neccessarily be inolved in, so you should be able to conduct yourselves adequately in my possible abscense. =Ambisinister
The curse continues. As you noticed, I'm sure, my home internet collapsed last night. I blame Bell Canada, because my router kept claiming everything was peachy. Many apologies - FrivYeti
My uncle, as I have just been informed, is in town for a not-on-his-birthday birthday. The whole thing might be over before it's too late, but it's quite possible that it won't be. My sincere apologies if so. ~WillCoon , : (
