:I don't see how it's irrelevant or outdated, frankly. I mean, all this page ever was was just a little nugget of an idea about the First Age. The release of a second edition supplement (that not all of us necessarily have or want - there are plenty of folks who stand firmly by first edition, after all) can't invalidate a tiny little note from the previous developer. - [[David.]]

> Rhubardin > Was readihng the dawn caste book that I got as a present and was astonished to read about winged flying people in the memories of the first age section. NOW who or what are these wanna be angels. And if anyone calls them draconians i'm naming my warstrider everlasting.

They were an artificial race of Man that perished either during the Contagion (due to decmation) or in the era immediately before and after it when the magical infrastructure needed to support their life functions collapsed. Keep in mind they probably required stuff like synthetic food, artificial wombs, sorcerous prosthetics and augmentation in every mamber of the race or similar prodigies just to live. The human body really isn't meant to fly, and artificial creatures so exotic were probably too delicate to survive the collapse of their milieu's technical capabilities.

What about the bird men in Scavenger Sons? As a side note, can they exalt? - Myrlan

There are bird-men in Scavenger Sons? The closest thing I can think of are the hawkriders of Metagalapa, but as far as I can recall, the riders themselves are completely normal humans. - Quendalon

On the same page as the stats for the rocs and hawkriders are the bird men - Myrlan

Ah, found them. They are described as "strange beings of the Wyld," which probably marks them as a tribe of Wyld-tainted mortals. - Quendalon

True, but they've been breeding outside of the wyld for some time now, so they may be valid for exaltation (or absolutely not, but it would be cool if they could) - Myrlan

Using PG rules for beastmen and Lunar Half-Castes they can exalt. Hell, using the Wyld taint rules from Lunars lets them exalt, at a hefty penalty. Have Fun... nikink

Sweet! - Myrlan

The text of Castebook: Night specifically includes a snakeman Solar, setting a precedent for beastman Solars. The real question is, can a piney Exalt? -TedPro

Would it be totally awesome for a piney to Exalt? If so, why not! -- AntiVehicleRocket

Just, you know, idle curiousity ... what's a piney? o.O - David.

Oh thank God. For a minute I thought it was a reference to Disgaea -MeiRen

Regarding MeiRen's comment...Prinnies? Now that would be weird... -ElTommo

"Solar Prinny Squad, Kaboom!" And here I thought we'd thought of every possible way there was to blow up Gem. -Ramidel
