: I used Dia, a Visio-clone for Linux. Drew the box shape by hand (using snap-to-grid to make it much, much easier) then just copied and pasted for everything else, and exported to PNG when I was done. I'm sure Visio would do just as well, and there's apparently a Windows version of Dia available as well. Check out http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/ for more info. BTW, if you can get Dia working I'd be happy to provide one of the source files to you, if you'd like.  -- [[Charlequin]]

Revision as of 09:02, 3 April 2010

These are my Solar Charm Tree Charts. Each is comprehensive (covering all Solar Charms published for that ability in any Exalted books thus far), and annotated with the Charm's source (book and page number), as well as Essence and Ability minimums. Next to each Charm, the number in the Square represents the Ability minimum; the number in the Circle represents the Essence minimum. Any page numbers without a book name attached refer to the core book.

Comments

Very cool! Thank you for posting this here. - Quendalon

No problem! I hope people get some good use out of these. Let me know if you spot any mistakes or have any feature requests. - Charlequin
The Brawl tree has Adamantine Fists of Battle requiring Hammer on Iron Technique and Pounding Hammer of Devastation Technique, where it should require Hammer on Iron Technique and Heaven Thunder Hammer instead. - Ojastej

Yes, thank you very much for posting these. They shall prove very useful. - Epsilon

This is wonderful. Very useful! - DivMax

Organized the links. Can you tell it's been a boring afternoon? _Jabberwocky

Wow, you must be intensely bored. I am very sorry. Perhaps, though, you might write an Exalted story or something? You have a fine prose style, and writing would be a better use for your talents. - Quendalon

The sheer amount of coolness that this page entails boggles my mind. A heartfelt thank you from (I would imagine) the whole wiki - I know I'll be using this for chargenning for, like, ever. - SMK

How did you make these? (Program, etc.) I'd like to make some tree charts for my tabletop game, and these are pretty close to what I'm looking for. -- JesseLowe

I used Dia, a Visio-clone for Linux. -- Charlequin

Just found this. Very kickass Quin. Mad props. So going to put these in my Binder O'Doom for future references:)

Stuff. Blaque

Charlequin -- These are great! One of the first things I thought after glancing through one of the splatbooks for the first time was, wow, gonna have to make updated versions of those charm trees with little required essence/skill numbers by them, to avoid being hopelessly confused. And you've already done it! I actually started doing this on paper for the Dragon Blooded charm trees (although will only be able to do 3/5 at the moment since Water and Wood aren't out til next year). I was going to put them into Dia, which I already have running -- but since you have awesome templates already, any chance I can use them? Metasynthie

By the way, unless I missed an errata somewhere, the Melee tree (specifically the defensive bit) is wrong. Solar Counterattack should come off of Dipping Swallow Defense, not Golden Essence Block. Of course, I only noticed because I find these things wonderfully useful! Thanks for doing them!
-- Darloth

Cool stuff. Check my Wordman page for a PDF of similar trees for other types of exalted, though it just uses boring boxes. - Wordman

I am sad to say that it seems that his outside host has vanished, and with it, the trees. Does anyone have a local copy? I'd be willing to host it. -- GregLink

I have them all, but I couldn't start sending them over to you until sometime tonight. If you're on RPG.net or the White Wolf forums, you can get ahold of me with contact info through a PM there to Shisumo or Hapushet, respectively. - Hapushet
