As described by The Stalwart Wasteland Prince in a missive to Chejop Kejak:
Once a series of western islands, Namarath was given over into the safe-keeping of the No Moon Lunar Quicksilver Scribe (also known as Grassblade), as rewards for services rendered to the Solar Deliberative. Grassblade experimented frequently, often communicating with the Council of Magical Constructs, until she developed what would one day come to be known as Moonsilver Dragons -- beings of quicksilver composition with wingspans easily larger than most small cities. Attaching her islands to their bellies, Namarath was lifted to the sky. The islands would forever after (at least, in her mind; they were brought crashing down during the Usurpation) fly slowly over the west, as the Dragons made their slow flights around the West.
The islands of Namarath were connected by the common (hourly) flights of the smaller Moonsilver Dragonettes, ferrying inhabitants across from island to island. The southernmost island, and capital of Namarath, was stable; its flight did not rely on the moonsilver dragons, but on the focusing of the energy from the immense manse that the island housed (and would serve as Grassblade's home in the years to come prior to her death), the Manse-Bulwark.
It was the southernmost island, known as The Most Illustrious Jewel of the Sky, that also housed the touching-down point of the Zhang Zhe Way.
Namarath was known for its tailor district, which specialized in weavings of lace incorporating cloud-silk and crushed Storm Mother pearls. Its largest trading partner was The Bitter Flower Empire, to whom they commonly exported lace and kravelt, and imported all of their paper, lumber, many fruits, and a variety of other goods common in the East but unheard of in the West.
Due to attempts to steal Kravelt-smithing techniques from the Namarath, and dubious taxation issues, the Namarath and Bitter Flower Empire eventually came to blows, resulting in the Lace and Paper War.
