Timeline of the Second Age
+
First Age
 +
Dates before the founding of the Realm are sketchy; however, certain events are not. In rough order:

*-1:
+
* Solars rule for a "timeless age". ( Exalted, p. 11)
** The Seventh Legion of the Shogun, controlled by the Daimyo of Deheleshen, arrives at his city, leveled by the Fair Folk.
+

** The Seventh Legion of the Shogun builds an encampment at Deheleshen
+
circa RY -4,500
*1:
+

**The end of the Great Contagion
+
* The end of the Primordial Wars.
**A young Dragon-Blooded soldier gains control of the Sword of Creation.
+

**The Destruction of the Fair Folk Armies ends the invasion.
+
RY -4,110
**The Annihilation of the Seven Tigers
+

**The Founding of the Realm
+
* Autochthon withdraws from Creation, creating Autochthonia. Its calendar, which calculates years "in the same fashion as the Old Realm", begins and "the current year is 4878". This clearly occurred prior to the Usurpation, placing a limit on how far back that could have occurred. ( Autochthonians, pg. 24)
*3:
+

** Imperial City construction begins
+
circa RY -3,900
*12:

**Founding of the All-Seeing Eye by the Scarlet Empress
+
* Ascension Day, when the lesser elemental dragons were elevated to the status of gods.
*18:
+

**Founding of the First ministries and magistrates in the Realm
+
circa RY -2,800
*20:
+

**The Seventh Legion founds the city of Lookshy on the ruins of Deheleshen, as civilian settlements spring up among the ruins.
+
* The Kukla becomes the first greater elemental dragon and is promptly bound by the Unconquered Sun.
*40:
+

**The Realm Legions are re-established.
+
circa RY -500
*44:
+

**The Empress’s consort Jeresh assassinated by a lovesick suitor
+
* The Unconquered Sun gets angry at the Solar Deliberative and turns his face from the Solar Exalted.
*45:
+

**Emissaries of the Empress arrive at several city-stats demanding Oaths of fealty. Some sign on, others, like Lookshy, refuse.
+
circa RY -400
**Threats compel more city-states to sign on.
+

*47:
+
* The Usurpation
**First Assault on the River Province by the Realm. Based in coastal cities, elements of the Fourth legion begin a systematic campaign of conquest, bypassing Lookshy.
+

**Scattered resistance intensifies. Soon the Realm can control only what it can see.
+
Usurpation & Shogunate
*52:

Present year.

Revision as of 02:06, 27 May 2009

Timeline of Creation for my games

First Age

Dates before the founding of the Realm are sketchy; however, certain events are not. In rough order:

  • Solars rule for a "timeless age". ( Exalted, p. 11)

circa RY -4,500

  • The end of the Primordial Wars.

RY -4,110

  • Autochthon withdraws from Creation, creating Autochthonia. Its calendar, which calculates years "in the same fashion as the Old Realm", begins and "the current year is 4878". This clearly occurred prior to the Usurpation, placing a limit on how far back that could have occurred. ( Autochthonians, pg. 24)

circa RY -3,900

  • Ascension Day, when the lesser elemental dragons were elevated to the status of gods.

circa RY -2,800

  • The Kukla becomes the first greater elemental dragon and is promptly bound by the Unconquered Sun.

circa RY -500

  • The Unconquered Sun gets angry at the Solar Deliberative and turns his face from the Solar Exalted.

circa RY -400

  • The Usurpation

Usurpation & Shogunate

  • The Usurpation, followed by "decades" of war to exterminate the Solars. ( Exalted, p. 11)
  • "The Dragon-Blooded" rule for "centuries". ( Exalted, p. 11) This refers to the Shogunate.
  • "...the Dragon-Blooded managed to hold everything together for seven centuries". (Manual of Exalted Power: The Sidereals, pg. 224)
  • Swan Dragon is Censor for the South from "345 years after the Usurpation up until the last days of the Contagion". His tenure is at least "a few hundred years". ( Houses of the Bull God, pg. 102)
  • The arrival of the Great Contagion. Based on the description events between this and the founding of the Realm ( Exalted, pp. 11-12), this probably happened only a few years before RY 0.

Also known as The Year of Seven Tigers.

RY 76

  • Realm invasion of the Scavenger Lands continues. ( Scavenger Sons, p. 66)
    • Siege of Lookshy lifted by use of a First Age weapon. (This probably creates the shadowland of Mourning Field, in which case we know that Lookshy was besieged by the Sixth and Ninth Legions.) ( Scavenger Sons, p. 66)
    • Seventh Legion forces march to Great Forks -- or at least, to the conjunction of the Yellow River and the Rolling River where Great Forks will be founded in RY 278 -- and destroy the Fourth Imperial Legion there. ( Scavenger Sons, p. 66)
