Character Creation

The characters of A World of Steel And Glass are not created quite the same as those of the traditional world of Exalted. Improved training techniques and houserules combine to create slightly different characters. Listed below are all of the character types in the world. Please note that, as with Exalted, they are not meant to be balanced against each other: run mixed games at your own risk.

General Requirements

The following requirements are based on a character's area of origin, and are true unless specifically superceded elsewhere.

All characters must begin play with Lore 1, unless they are deliberately coming from a background that lacked even the basic education given out by all seven of the Great Nations.

Any character who was educated in Pangu must speak Shogunate and First Age, and must have the specialty Lore (Religion).

Any character who was educated in Deheleshen must speak Shogunate or Riverspeak (most speak both), and must have Occult 1 and Buerocracy 1.

Any character who was educated in Chirascuro must speak Shogunate or Flametongue (most speak both), and must have Buerocracy 1.

Any character who was educated in the Balmori Republic must speak Shogunate, and must have Occult 1, and either Lore 2 or Occult 2.

Any character who was educated in Rathess must have at least one combat ability (Dawn Caste) at 3, and another at 2.

Any character who was educated in New Estasia must have at least twos dot of Crafts or Profession, and one dot in a combat ability.
