Phormetis, the Permanence of Change

Phormetis was born in Anapyxi's first exhalation, her first exchange with the world and with herself. He congealed in front of her and she spoke to him. "You are what you are." She said it with a smile and walked on; Phormetis tried to follow, but her path was lost to him. He lay and wept grey tears at her absence.

Phormetis is wizened old man of clay, hunched over and with a staff of green brass; though if in trouble, he rouses himself to stand upright and proud, seven feet tall. His substance is not baked hard, but is malleable; indeed, it flows constantly, running in streams down his legs and dripping from his beard. He leaves a constant grey trail of thin clay behind, but he is not diminshed by this loss of substance. His body is thus constantly shifting, but always fundamentally the same; he is change, but he is static.

Phormetis considers that physical change is only superficial; as he is a walking example, one can be constantly shifting and yet always the same if only their body adapts. He holds that to gain knowledge and experience is the essence of change, and he has taken this principle to its farthest possible extent. Phormetis is renowned for his lore and his wits; he has a voracious desire to learn and to know all that there is; he has walked every inch of the demon realm that he could survive, and some that he could not. He has touched Ligier's face and has walked to the infinite edge of Cecylene. Orabilis has come to him for being too wise, and after speaking he still lives, and he now has a glass library filled with great scrolls. What Phormetis said at their meeting is unknown to all but the two of them, and he will not reveal it even if bound and commanded to.

Phormetis is summoned often for his great wisdom, although he often reveals far less than he is asked. He has the power to see the future of any ambition he is asked of, and the future is always abhorrent. Many a sorceror has asked of the end of their knowledge and been shaken to their roots. It has been recorded that there is one thing that Phormetis should never be asked - if he is asked to teach all of his knowledge, he will ritually cover the sorceror in clay, and they will rise as an Aai bound to learn from him. He is usually accompanied by many who have paid this price.

Other notes: If Phormetis has access to his library, all occult and lore rolls are at +3 dice.
Stylistically, Phormetis fights with a style based around pure economy of motion, staying absolutely still when not attacked or attacking and only slightly shifting to either defend or strike.
Phormetis can read what is to come using Foretell the Future only if asked about a specific thing to come - in this case, he does so and then uses Wordly Illusion to reveal what he has seen. This is the only way he may use either charm. The future that he reveals will always be the worst possible outcome of any given situation. Creatures who see their future in this manner are shaken, and must succeed in a willpower roll, or lose all temporary willpower. If they succeed, they lose only one temporary willpower.
His soul rapt may only be used to create Aai if he is asked for all he knows. The target loses one point of stamina every hour, and if their stamina lowers to 0, they become one of his progeny. He prefers not to do this, as it wastes the knowledge of the victim; and so as part of the procedure, he uses memory mirror to copy their minds and learn all they know. This is the only way he may use either charm. Despite not enjoying this task, he is obligated to perform it.
