Dark Tower
On the fifth day of Calibration, when one century fades into nothingness and another is birthed through blood and strife, far in the south, a tower of basalt and nightmare shall rise through the sky..
The Tower isn't Creation, it's Something Else. All of the crazy apocolyptic prophecies are leading up to when the Tower rises, busts through the dome of the sky and becomes a direct path to Yu-Shan, because-- let's face it-- the Yozis weren't really into Creation in the first place, they're all about the Games.
A mysterious disease swept the Underworld. Many Deathlords disappeared, many ghosts bound in servitude and many deathknights fell ill and perished. When the Deathknights died, their Shards never returned to their monstrances, but rather, their monstrances fell into dust. It is that harvesting of energy, disguised as a disease, which built the Tower; for what the Malfeans giveth, the Malfeans taketh away.
Whispers In The Hollow
Should you dare to enter, beware the Whispers. This will detail the complete and utter madness that exists within the Tower.
The Yozis and the Malfeans didn't work together exactly, but I somehow want the inside of the Tower to be built from the mad dreams of the dead gods. Perhaps the Yozis are able to travel through the dreams of the Neverborn because the Neverborn vaguely remember their peers from the time before death. This would allow me to keep the crazy-creepy imagery I more associate with Malfeans, while making the (more obviously capable) Yozis the bad guys. See also: Ageis' nifty idea below.
Dramatis Personae
NPCs and PCs, including the Blood-Born Empress and The Man with Garments Drenched in Darkness.
Blood-Born Empress: Tepet Ejava. Duh.
Man with Garments Drenched in Darkness: This has been changed a lot, inspired by Ageis' idea. FAFL was the Deathlord which got tapped with the task of physically creating the tower and sucking the world into Oblivion by the Malfeans. FAFL was willing to do this, and even sacrificed many of his legions and his own deathknights to the task under the guise of the "disease." Unfortunately, the Man in Black was all for the idea of turning Creation into one gigantic shadowland, but not so hot on the idea of everything ceasing to exist. He was approached by an ambassador from the Ebon Dragon while he was on a typical mission in Creation, and given both the knowledge of how to change the Tower in order to make it useful to the Yozis as well as a promise of certain world-spanning power when the Yozis came into their own. He accepted and made the modifications. FAFL actually fell ill to the same mysterious "disease," unknowing of why-- the Malfeans were full of wrath for his betrayal, but he simply assumed that they were asking for his greatest sacrifice. So, seriously weakened (and everyone thought he was dead!), FAFL is now sending what little strength he has left to him against the Man in Black, who is ronin like it's going out of style. (HA! Get it, he's ronin' away from FAFL! You thought it was funny.)
Comments
I have alweys had a soft spot for one-on-ones, and this is a paticularly good one. As for the tower itself, it could be something like a death-alinged Wyld zone, were the the interior shifts from one second to the next based on the subconcious fears of its residents. And swingings chains and freaky disimbodied vocies are a must. Best of luck with this, if it get of the ground we would all be greatful if you posted logs and the like. - Jamez
Heres a thought.
During the civil war thousands of dragon blooded and countless humans were killed. The malfeans were well perpared for this (Indeed their servants spent a great deal of time during the war insuring maximum casulties on each side.) At their direction the deathlords and their minions used sorcerous means to harvest the pain and death generated during the war and proceeded to work and shape it into the structure of a vast black tower. This vile and twisted work of black geomancy was designed to...
- channel the stagnent essence of the malfeans into creation on the night of calibration and once their sustain it. This would allow the dead gods their opertunity to finaly destroy creation.
- Tear a rift through the fabric of creation into the heart of the void dragging everything into oblivion.
- Totally rip off baldurs gate 2 a dark alliance by creating a citideal that can change it location with the coming of each dawn. Allowing them to move their evil armies where ever they want to crush the armies of creation.
However unknown to the slumbering malfeans (its funy how super powerful evil villans always miss something) their servants betrayed them. One among the deathlords was none to thrilled with the idea of destroying creation utterly. Invading it and turning the the whole place into his evil underworld empire yes, obliteratin everything and himself not so much. This fellow was approached by agents of the ebon dragon who offered him a deal. In the service of his new masters he altered the design of the dark tower in return they offered him a place of power when they ruled creation. With the alterations the tower now...
- Channels the essence of the yozi into creation. The ebon dragon being slightly similar to the malfeans.
- Tears a hole in the fabric of the southern desert that links to the demon desert celiyne. Que the armies of demons.
- Makes its first stop malfeas to pick up some friends
And there you have it a spooky malfean tower under the control of the yozi without them technicaly working together. The deathlord whos abyssal is guiding the party must be a more loyal servant of the malfeans whos gotten wise to his fellows treachery.
What think ye?
- I think you are my new hero. That's perfect. So super-duper cool it's silly. This ties SO MUCH TOGETHER for me. Thank you! -dissolvegirl
