Exalted: the Lunars

These are just some general rebalances and changes to the Lunars.

the Lunar Castes

The Changing Moons are by far the most flexible and unique of the three Lunar Castes. This comes from the fact that they are the magical union of three previous castes, and thus carry large amounts of magic within them. This manifests in their charm selection; All Changing Moon Lunar's can select one favored Attribute from the Physical or Mental abilities.

The Casteless Lunars are not the Lunar's of old, as the methods of stabilizing Lunar essence from it's natural protean state and securing it in the old Castes has been lost. None the less, the tattoo's that Lunars currently use have had a number of unfortunate side-effects, some of which do not apply to the Casteless.

  • the Tell of a Casteless Lunar conceals itself better than most Lunars; he uses the Shapechanged section of the Tell Revelation chart, regardless of his current form.
  • The Casteless Lunar ignores any "Tattoos" items on the Anima chart. The Casteless Lunar's Tell is not 'impossible to miss', when revealed by the chart, but instead is detected using the rules for True Form.
  • The Casteless Lunar's do not have shapeshifting immunity; this leaves them vulnerable to the Wyld, but also allows them to use various charms and spells that other Lunars are unable to benefit from.
  • Lastly, the Casteless Lunars can spend a mote to cause their current Caste Mark to burn brightly upon their brow.
