BrokenQuill/GodsAndFey

A game played in the First Age. It is a strategy game based on the constant battle between the Gods and the Fey. It is played like our modern "Axis and Allies" type of table top games.

The Gods player has:

  • 5 orichalcum pieces: Gerneral(Dawn), King(Zenith), Sorceror(Twilight), Hunter(Night) and Envoy(Eclipse),
  • 5 moonsilver pieces: Champion (Full), Priest (Waxing), Judge (Half), Spy (Waning) and Mystic (No)
  • 5 starmetal pieces: Viceroy, Seer, Explorer, Duellist and Undertaker,
  • 5 jade elemental dragons
  • various smaller jade pieces

The Fey player has:

  • 20 Nobles
  • 20 Caraphracts
  • 5 behemoths
  • a great host of smaller pieces

These pieces is made from gemstones of different color.

Comments:

I'd've thought that the Executioner fits Saturn's Chosen better than Undertaker. -- Senji

It all depends on your point of view. Chosen of Saturn don't have to be assassins.\\ _Ikselam

Suggestions for the Moonsilver pieces- Champion (Full), Priest (Waxing), Judge (Half), Spy (Waning) and Mystic (No).\\ Frankly, I don't like the Judge for Half, but the Solar's already have General... (Based off the Lost Castes, Lunars page 77)

And possibly there should be 20 Nobles and Catraphacts- 5 of each of the 4 Virtues or Elements. As a Fae spawned of a given Virtue/element is quite distinct from the others, and even the Nobles fall to the Terrestrials one on one. The use numbers and madness to win.

Oh, also- the way you're describing the pieces is virtually nothing like Axis and Allies. This is more like SuperComplexChess with a creation shaped board, and a variety of pieces, each with unique strengths. Axis and Allies has a small number of different pieces used in vast numbers.

Thanks Darius, The Lunar devision matches nicely now. How about the Sidereals? I envision the game as a massive Army vs. Army game with the Exalts and Fey as champions and a host of dragon bloods and beastmen as cannon fodder. Since the game was designed by and for Solars, there is a vast power difference between them and the Dragon bloods in the game. See it as another sign of the Great Curse at work. Exalted - the Table Top Game anyone :)

In my Convention Intro Games I use the figures as a riddle -BrokenQuill/ChessBoard. Basically the players find a box with the pieces and a slab with holes in it, just big enough to put the pieces in. The correct order opens a gate. Thus I teach new players that they are the really the top dogs, but don't know much about the world.
