Sol’s Regalia

Visor of Evening Majesty

Artifact: 4
Commitment: 5 Motes (Orichalcum)

In the waning hours of the light of day majesty takes the lands of creation that bears the aura of mysticism and magic. The Visor of Evening Majesty harnesses this mysticism and carries it with it at all times. The wearer of the Visor of Evening Majesty becomes an exceedingly potent sorcerer. The helm itself bears an essence pool equal to five times that of the sorcerer’s permanent essence, which can be spent freely on any sorcery that the wearer casts, though it is supremely useless for anything else.

The essence pool of the helm restores over the course of an hour during the prime of the twilight period of the day.

In addition, if the caster is attempting to cast a spell of the Solar Circle, the time to cast the spell is reduced by a round, and the willpower cost is reduced by one. This, in effect, causes Solar Circle Spells to function as celestial spells for the wearer of the helm. Any casting time required by the spell is not reduced in any way.


Greaves of Silent Stars

Artifact: 4
Commitment: 4 Motes (Orichalcum)

These metal boots make no sound at all when rapped upon, nor do the steps of the wearer make any sound at all. At will, the wearer can make this silence spread to his entire body, silencing all sounds that come from him or anything he is carrying. The lesser effect raises the difficulty to detect him by sound by one, the greater power makes it impossible.

In addition to the silencing effect, the Greaves of Silent Stars doubles the movement speed of the wearer, and grants them preternatural balance, decreasing the difficulty on all athletics rolls to 1, prior to any magical modifiers outside of their control. Anything that would normally only require one success, such as climbing a rope ladder or walking over smooth ice, the wearer of the greaves need make no roll.

Each of the boots had an empty golden circle around the outside ankles.


Plate of Noon’s Glory

Artifact: 4
Commitment: 8 Motes

Soak Value: 13L/12B, Mobility Penalty: -2, Fatigue: 1 (With material bonus)

When sunlight falls upon the body of this majestic suit of armor all that view it are awe struck by its beauty.

When soaking aggravated damage, the wearer of this plate may use their stamina to soak the damage as though it was lethal. In addition, the wearer can decide, after soak, to convert any remaining aggravated damage dice to automatic levels of lethal damage instead, in any amount desired. Likewise, the wearer may convert dice of lethal damage into automatic levels of bashing damage.

The armor has s single hearthstone setting in the center of the sternum, with the golden disc raised all around it.


Gauntlets of Shielded Sun

Artifact: 4
Commitment: 4 Motes

The fingers of these Orichalcum gauntlets are only armored on the top of the fingers, leaving the pads and tips of the fingers free for easy manipulation. The backs of the palms each have a raised circle surrounded by a sunken ring.

Any pen, quill, pencil, chalk, or other writing implement in the hands of one wearing the Gauntlets of the Shielded Sun won’t break, wear down, or run out of ink. This is, perhaps, the least of the gauntlets abilities, however.

One of the more potent powers of the gauntlets is that they make any contract written by the wearer, or written by someone else and signed by the bearer, completely binding to both the wearer of the Gauntlets and whoever had written it or signed it. Unlike the anima power of the Eclipse Caste, which forces severe consequences to anyone that breaks the bond, this power makes it impossible to break it. Try as anyone might, they can never do anything against what they agreed to do.

There is only one way out of this binding, and that is for the Exalt that is attuned to the gauntlets to burn the contract. The parchment itself nearly indestructible to anyone else, and even if the paper is destroyed, the sway of the gauntlets still holds all parties bound, save the person attuned to the gauntlets.


Blade of Morning Fury

Speed: +4, Accuracy: +3, Damage: +5L, Defense: +3 (With MM bonus)

The Blade of Morning Fury is possibly the simplest of all the artifacts that make up Sol’s Regalia. It has only one power beyond the raw might of the common Daiklave. The potency of the Blade of Morning is affected by the power of the wielder. Each of the statistics of the blade is increased by the wielder’s permanent essence.

Someone with an Essence trait of 4 would wield the blade with the following statistics: Speed: +8, Accuracy: +7, Damage: +9L, Defense: +7


Unlike most Daiklaves, the Blade of Morning Fury is made of the purest Orichalcum, instead of the more common alloys. As a result it is incredibly heavy to anyone not attuning it, weighing easily over one hundred pounds.



The Hand of Light

The ultimate power of Sol’s Regalia is what the artifacts can do when all are worn at once. At an expenditure of fifteen motes, three for each item worn, the true personification of the artifacts comes forth.

As the essence spirals around the wielder, they fade from existence and find themselves in elsewhere. Before them, kneeling on a platform amidst the swirling mists and lights, is a golden War Strider, the Hand of Light.

When the bearer of Sol's Regalia approaches the war strider, it opens, and inside the chest cavity is a human shaped hollow. When they position themselves within it, the war strider closes, and the pilot’s perceptions changes. Unlike most war striders, there is no need to strap ones self in or fasten anything. The operator of The Hand of Light sees things as though they were looking through the eyes of the strider themselves.

When the pilot moves their body, the strider responds. Every movement the pilot makes, the strider mimics. This makes for extremely proficient piloting. With this added proficiency comes a sensation of feedback that allows the wielder to feel as though things were happening to their own body. The only sensation controlled is pain, leaving the bearer with a clear head while piloting the Hand.

For five additional motes, the pilot can summon The Glorious Blade of Morning Fury, a war strider Grand Daiklave unlike any other. In the hands of The Hand of Light, the blade is as deadly as it is majestic.

The fifteen motes required to summon the armor remains committed, as well as the commitment costs of all the artifacts that make up Sol's Regalia. The armor can reside in creation for one day before the energy required to sustain it dissipates. When the armor fades back to elsewhere, it leaves the pilot standing where the war strider was. The war strider cannot be summoned again for ten days, and when it is summoned once again there are no signs to damage it had sustained before.

Glorious Blade of Morning Fury Speed: +20, Accuracy: +5, Damage: +20L, Defense: +5


(Note: The Glorious Blade of Morning Fury retains the same power that the Daiklave version has, it gains a bonus to each of its statistics equal to the permanent essence of the pilot.




Comments/Suggestions

I like this diablo-like item set, as well as the combination ability, but I've got a few questions - You havn't explained the 'special' commitment costs of the armour (Noon's Glory), and I think the greater power of the boots should possibly cost something, if only 1 mote per scene. Other than that, this is a really nice idea.

I meant to say that the cost to commit the armor was the same as the total commitment costs of the artifacts themselves. You lose the benifits of the items when you use the suit (obviously). I figured the boots wern't broken enough to require an activation cost. I mean, they are level four and have a fair commitment cost. -EndlessChase
