From Flawless Mirror's Letters of Haste

I write this not knowing if it will see the light of dawn once again. Nevertheless, I must be faithful to my fellow Exalts and the memory of their deeds.

Fara's legions of beastmen have taken the outer wall, and Totati has barricaded what remains of his forces in the Keep-Manse Reem. I pray its Essence Arrays can hold out until the 2nd Legion arrives.

Since the destruction of the Cranefly School, there has been a deep enmity between Fara and Totati; the former desiring to focus on the more martial aspects of the School's teachings, while the latter insists that the more sorcerous lessons should be studied closer. Being a practitioner of the mystic arts myself, I have sided with Totati. I now begin to see the folly of such partisian thinking.

There! Again that odd sound! Like a howl, but... metallic. Maybe Chopakta was right; maybe I *am* losing my mind. A different sound now; thudding and scratching at the gates; Lightning-Paws' forces are breaking through! Oh, if only Quaren Falls-As-Leaves were here! Her negotiations could stem this needless tide of death and hate.

I cease my writing; Rimma is to continue this chronicle. May his eyes be faithful and his heart know not fear.

I... I am Rimma, enslaved to the will of my master, Flawless Mirror. He dons now his vestments; an Obsidian Eye and his daiklaive, Granite Flower.

See! The forces of Fara breach the gate! My master and Totati fight as one! With spell and sword they strike, and their bestial foes fall by the hundreds. Such ferocity! How can any foe stand to the might of the sun?

Here now is Fara, clad in naught but knives. Blood is at her mouth and hands, and her blades drip with it. Now she throws one, and...

Totati has fallen. May he rest now in Yu-Shan.

Still my master fights! I am filled with love at his valor and strength, and yet I fear none may survive this day who do not rally to Fara Lightning-Paws.

A mighty word now my master speaks, and Fara is stunned! Can my master kill with but a word? No, no, not kill. He has branded her with The Rune. I shudder to think, but know that my master is in the deepest of desperations.

The hordes take him, now. But... but they do not kill? They carry him! I go to save him, lest he be taken by the beasts into the Wyld...

Is "Keep-Manse Reem" a typo, or something mysterious and interesting? I must know! - Quendalon

Totally mysterious. It's a keep, but it is also a manse. Its name is 'Reem'. Thus, it is the Keep-Manse Reem. Do you think I should add a phantom? -Dim

Feel free to replace one of your other phantoms with it. As a general practice, it's important to fill in the closest upcoming letters with phantoms, lest we find ourselves with six players fighting over two or three phantom entries. Though I agree it's also important to fill in tough letters like 'Q'. :) - Quendalon

Time to flesh out K! -Dim

Note that you're only supposed to have two phantom entries; part of the formal game is the exercise of selecting only two references out of all of the interesting things in your entry. - Quendalon

Okay, fine, you win. The Obsidian Eye entry is gone. -Dim

I hope you link the Obsidian Eye from another entry later on in the game; it sounds like it'll produce some interesting Lexical results. - Quendalon

But of course :) -Dim
