Soak: The Lunar baliwack. The area in which they are quite possibly superior to any other Exalt is in taking a beating and continuing to fight.

If a Lunar's natural soak would rise above 12, it may be treated as Hardness instead. An attack whose raw damage is less than the Lunar's Hardness deals no damage instead. A Lunar can reflexively at the start of each turn change how much Hardness they have. A Lunar's Hardness can never exceed their soak.

Hide Toughening Essence

Cost: 1 mote per 2 soak
Duration: Until Released
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 1
Minimum Essence: 1
Prerequisite Charms: None

Lets a Lunar increase their Bashing soak by up to their Stamina. Compatible with Armor.

Armor Forming Technique

Cost: 4 motes, 1 Willpower
Duration: Until Released
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Hide Toughening Essence

Lets a Lunar soak Lethal damage with their Bashing rating. Compatible with Armor, but reduces the Lunar's Appearance to 1.

Moonsilver Turtle Method

Cost: 6 motes, 1 Willpower, 1 Aggravated Health Level
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Stamina: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Armor Forming Technique

Grants an additional +6L / +6B soak, which counts as natural for the purposes of charmss but also adds 6 to the Lunar's Aggravated Soak. The Lunar can increase this to +12L / +12B if they give up their action for this turn, in place of aborting to a full parry or dodge.

Scales of the Celestial Dragon

Cost: 3 motes per point, 1 Willpower
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Stamina: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Armor Forming Technique

Reduce the minimum damage an opponent can inflict by 1 per 3 motes spent for the scene, to a minimum of 1. A Lunar may not reduce the enemy's minimum damage by more than their Stamina.

Invulnerable Moonsilver Carapace

Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
Duration: One Scene
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Moonsilver Turtle Method, Scales of the Celestial Dragon

After Invulnerable Moonsilver Carapace is active, a Lunar may spend 1 mote to add 3 to their Hardness, even if it exceeds their normal Soak. This must be declared before soak is applied. A Lunar may not spend more than their Permanent Essence in this fashion. This expenditure does not count as using a Charm.

Skin of Stone

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: None

Turns all Lethal damage from one attack into Bashing. May be activated before soak is applied, after soak is applied, or even after the damage is rolled.

Enduring Mountain Ridge

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 4
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Skin of Stone

Negates all Bashing damage from one attack. May be activated before soak is applied, after soak is applied, or even after the damage is rolled.

Luna's Favored Child

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Enduring Mountain Ridge

Turns all Aggravated damage from one attack into Lethal. May be activated before soak is applied, after soak is applied, or even after the damage is rolled.

Subsume the Silver Skin

Cost: 6 motes, 1 Willpower
Duration: Until Released
Type: Simple
Minimum Stamina: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: None

The Lunar absorbs their armor. It no longer imposes a mobility or fatigue penelty, and does not count as armor for the purposes of Charms that negate armor, but still blocks lethal damage. It no longer counts as armor for the purposes of Charms that are incompatible with the use of armor, and is not visible. Subsume the Silver Skin may only be used with Moonsilver armor. A Lunar may not use Subsume the Silver Skin on a Warstrider, although an Essence 4 variant does allow such.

Devour the Predator's Fang

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Stamina: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Subsume the Silver Skin

The Lunar's flesh attempts to swallow a weapon that just struck it. The blow must have actually connected, but need not deal damage. The Lunar makes a Stamina + Resistance roll, with a number of bonus successes equal to the damage success rolled, which the opponent resists with a Strength + (Ability) roll. If the Lunar wins, the weapon is forcibly removed from the enemy's hands and devoured. Mundane weapons may be destroyed, or held and regurgitated at the end of the scene. Magical weapons, including any constructed of the Magical Materials, must be regurgitated at the end of the scene.

Comments

Umm... it's a pretty trivial thing, but "Devour the Predator's Fang" sounds kinda goofy to me. Not the Charm itself, just the name. Nobody devours fangs. How about "Steal the Predator's Fang"? Or "Theft of the Predator's Fang"? "Fang Removal Technique"? "Fang-Thwarting Method"? Honestly, I think I just like coming up with Charm names. - DigitalSentience

Considering the Lunar's body litterally just swallowed the weapon, devour seems like the appropriate term.  :) Steal the predator's fang would apply more to the Melee disarm charm. DS

I'm surprised that you haven't written Essence 3 and 4 persistent versions of Skin of Stone and Enduring Mountain Ridge. I'm particularly interested in what happens if you use both at once -- no damage from anything but Agg. That seems awfully easy to get. Though I guess, unlike Dodge and Parry, it's no use against disabling effects. And saying "if you want to hit an Essence 4 Lunar tank, get a source of Agg damage" is perfectly reasonable. Alternately, specifying the cost of Skin of Stone as "2 Essence + N Bashing health levels" to cancel N Lethal health levels would make it impossible to avoid the resulting bashing damage -- only to regenerate it afterwards. -- BrianSniffen

Luna's Favoured Child seems unbelievably powerful for it's price to me considering the rarity of aggravated damage. I recognize that it doesn't reduce the amount of damage actually -done-, only the type, but with regenerative abilities their is a significant difference. -Halloween

It's also Essence 3 (which is where the Agg Charms mostly live), eats your Charm for the turn, and has no impact on non-direct damage effects.
Maybe it's cost should be bumped up one, but I think it's alright. DS
You're probably right. Reading it again it doesn't seem so amazing. Comboed it with something a Gem of Adamant Skin and you've got a really nasty defense. Looking over the other charms I realized that Subsume the Silver Skin, while totally cool, is amazingly powerful for a martial artist. I get Moonsilver superheavy platemail, subsume it, and then use martial arts. I have the soak of armor without the negatives. That would make Lunars really deadly in the MA game. -- Halloween
Sure. For five artifact points and, what, 18 motes committed? How much is superheavy plate committment again? :) DS
It's not that much. It's around eight I think. And as far as I can tell -nobody- is foolish enough to believe that "superheavy" platemail is worth FIVE dots in artifact anymore. That made no sense even when the core book was originally printed. As written they -might- be counted as level 3 artifacts.... maybe. And if I were... say... a Fire Dragon MAist I'd be really down with having 14 extra soak, even if it cost me some potential essense. That's just me though. Could be my paranoia talking. -- Halloween
Hrm. It does bear consideration. Maybe the committment cost should also be increased? Or the soak provided be limited? DS
Heh heh heh... Moonsilver Warstrider - Vaegrim
Geh. Covered ;) DS
Can you really "absorb" something three or four times your size/mass? Maybe Towering Beast Form should be required for the Ess 4 variant... - Hapushet, who is trying to imagine a 5'7" guy integrating an entire mecha into his skin and failing miserably...
I imagined it with the lunar as a kind of furry wrapping-paper, just stretched thinly over the warstrider. Maybe a pair of blinking eyes somewhere on the torso. - Vaegrim, who's fun has been stepped on
Can you really take an object and put it in elsewhere? say for example a daiklaive. physics doesn't really apply in exalted. Madoka
If you just didn't want to allow the whole warstrider thing at all the fact that warstriders often incorporate other magical materials and exotic components could be a reason even a 'moonsilver' varient warstrider could not be abosorbed. -BogMod
