I really like it, there's only one problem. I only see 2 hearthstone slots, so you wouldn't be able to use all of those stones. - Malikai
- I would think the daiklaive itself would provide the usual three stone settings. - Miedvied
Only a Reaver Daiklaves only have one socket, its Grand Daiklaves that have three (Core book page 341). - Malikai
- usually. according to S&S(pg.33) an artifact can have up to it's rating in Hearthstone sockets so long as you pay the extra successes(5 per socket). -grypph
- I get the impression it's quite rare though. Certainly, dragon-blooded daiklaves are likely to have the normal number, especially the mass-produced ones.
-- Darloth
- Who says this guy's daiklave is mass-produced? He's got Breeding 5 and is a prodigy in battle and leadership. He sounds to me like a good family's favorite son and has clearly been at it for a while, and even if his blade isn't a weapon renowned in legend in song it's almost certainly a quality piece from a well-known craftsman. -Ben-San
- Oh, I agree with you there. I didn't say -this- one had to be mass produced, it was a statement aimed at the general lot. Admittedly, rereading my post, that may have been inferred, but it wasn't meant to. I suppose that's the problem with such a granular artifact system... who's to say if this daiklave has 2 sockets or not, and what justifies taking a 2-socket daiklave over a 1-socket one, if the 1-socket is standard and all other things are equal?.
- The only idea I've had is that perhaps if his daiklave does nothing else interesting, and has no other bonuses or tiny bits of niceness, then it might have 2 sockets instead. Since an interesting family blade could probably justly have some of those things.
