Moxiane's Solar Brawl Charms
- Back to SolarBrawl
- Back to SolarCharms
[#AgainstAnArmyTechnique] Against-an-Army Technique
Cost: 3 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One turn Type: Reflexive Minimum Brawl: 5 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Thunderclap Rush Attack
The best brawlers are never truly outnumbered, they merely have a large number of targets to choose from when attacking, and this Charm allows the Solar to expand that idea to its logical conclusion. For the remainder of the turn in which this Charm was activated, the character gains bonus dice to all Brawl attacks equal to the number of targets he is attacking in that turn (PowerCombat: the Rate of the attack is negated). These dice count as a Charm bonus for the purpose of other effects that add to Brawl attacks. This Charm can only be used once per turn.
[#WhirlwindOfHavoc] Whirlwind of Havoc
Cost: 5 motes, 1 Willpower Type: Reflexive Duration: 1 turn Minimum Brawl: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite Charms: Fist of Iron Technique
Several fighters against one, while good tactics and military sense, infuriates the true brawler as the choice of cowards and weaklings, when the true combatant stands alone against his foes. Whirlwind of Havoc focuses this outrage into the fists and hands of the character, increasing the damage he deals with hands and fists as the number of opponents increases. For every opponent attacking the Exalted increase the damage of his Brawling attacks by +1L - the don't need to have already attacked the character to qualify as opponents, they merely have to regard him as their primary target. (MailAndSteel: The Exalted gains a +1L bonus to his Brawling attacks for every dot of Magnitude that the opposing unit has). This Charm can only be used once per turn. (thanks to Balthasar & charlequin on WoDIRC for their help & inspiration)
[#RagingBerserkerMethod] Raging Berserker Method
Cost: 6 motes, 1 Willpower Type: Simple Duration: 1 scene Min. Brawl: 5 Min. Essence: 3 Prerequisite Charms: Hammer-on-Iron Technique, Against-an-Army Technique
The Essence of violence is a primal thing, swirling and rushing to and fro, almost unstoppable in its fury, and the Raging Berserker Method emulates this, turning the Exalted into a whirlwind of destruction. With this Charm active the character subtracts his dots in Brawl from the multiple action penalties for all Brawl attacks or parries he makes in any given turn. This is not a Charm bonus and thus does not count to the Dexterity + Brawl cap for Solar dice-adding Charms.

AaAT looks pretty ugly when combined with custom Charms that allow unlimited Brawl attacks, such as Whirling Dervish Onslaught. I'm not sure that's your intention. A very good Charm though. - Quendalon
- AaAT can't be comboed, since it's not instant. And even if it could, it can't add more than Dex + Brawl dice, being a Charm and all. So I don't think it's really abusable like it appears at first. - NatalieD
- Darn those confusing rules! You are correct, at least with respect to combos. And if there's ever a scene-long unlimited Brawl attack Charm, it's probably at a power level where one turn of extra dice won't make much difference anyway. - Quendalon
Thanks! AaAT is supposed to be nasty - it was stolen (blatantly so, I might add ^_^) from the One-Man Army Knack in Adventure!, but the dice it grants are bonus Charm dice so it has built-in limits. I have nastier ones in the waiting in the wings of my head, as soon as I can get the bugs out of the mechanics and decent names (the hardest part of Charm writing for me) down. - Moxiane
