The forty-first theme is Fun For All Ages
Kids and grownups alike can enjoy these hearthstones' powers.
Gem of Trophies (Ikselam)
- Air Manse 1
- Trigger: None
This gem looks like a very large cut diamond. It can be attuned without being placed in an artifact. When socketed, it makes it possible for the artifact to levitate slightly. This effect is not powerful enough to actually lift additional weight, just to cause the artifact to hover in place. If set spinning, the artifact will continue to do so indefinitely.
The Gem of Trophies retains attunement even if separated from its owner for long periods of time, and confers the same ability upon an attuned artifact in which it is socketed.
Magpie Ruby - willows
- Sidereal Manse 2
- Trigger: Concentration
This enormous ruby can turn the item it is set into (along with any Hearthstones that item carries) into a flock of magpies. There are between five and seven. They behave as wild magpies do, except with respect to an Exalt attuned to the stone; they will land on this person's arm and sing tamely when he displays his Castemark. They instinctively and unfailingly seek him out, though they will not override their unwillingness to approach other humans to do so. When assembled, the magpies may be transformed back into the Artifact.
Rebounding Stone - Moxiane
- Water Manse 3
- Trigger: Always on
This whorled blue-green stone is approximately two inches across and shot through with gold flecks. It is also extremely elastic and if dropped from any height will bounce back to that height for a period of approximately an hour before the bounces slowly reduce in height. If placed within an attuned socketed artefact then the Chosen gains some of this quality, becoming essentially immune to Bashing damage (Lethal and Aggravated damage affect the Exalted as normal). Unfortunately, even the slightest concussion will send the character flying - inflicting 5 yards of knockback for every die of pre-soak Bashing damage suffered by the character. Unlike normal knockback, if the character strikes another object he will not stop but bounce off unabated, until the full amount of knockback inflicted has been traveled. Should the character wish to control his flight he must roll (Dexterity + Athletics) against a difficulty of 3 for every bounce after the initial impact.
Peekaboo Stone (Ikselam)
- Lunar Manse 4
- Trigger: Covering your eyes
This white stone has a tendency to disappear when one looks away from it, only to suprisingly reappear later on. Its rounded surface is incised with a single curved line, suggestive of a smile. When its owner closes or covers his eyes, he can become invisible. In order for the effect to work, he can't peek (though magical or other senses that substitute for vision are fine). He doesn't disappear unless he wants to.
Folding Popup Manse (FlowsLikeBits)
- Wood Manse 5
- Trigger: Folding
This stone appears to a complex, many sided polyhedron made of folded paper. When this stone is removed from it's manse, the Manse itself folds away and vanishes. This does not cause the demense itself to vanish. The demense is still capped, the area just reverts to the way it was before the manse was build. Finding this demense while the manse is away has a -1 external penalty, although severe damage to the natural area will destroy the geomancy and cause the manse to return, gracefully unfolded upon the demense again.
By spending some time the bearer of the stone can fold the manse into any of the following things. Folding the manse requires a extended Craft(Wood) roll, requiring 1/10th the number of successes needed to craft the item, although each roll is a miscellanious action in long ticks. If time is not of the essence, just assume about a scene of effort is required.
- Any single simple atifact of up to 3 dots that does not require regular maintenance or external power. (Thus, one could make a 2 dot artifact that DID require maintenance). Such artifacts have 1 heartstone slot less than normal, and the stone does not provide Essence regeneration while folded. Generally, the stone can only be folded into artifacts that lack significant essence manipulation(such as an activation cost), or moving parts.
- A papery folded animal that acts as a familiar of rating 3 or less. The animal does provide essence regeneration or the 5 mote pool common to familiars, but is compatible with ride charms. It has Automoton Psychology(p95, Wonders of the Lost Age)
- Any mundane object or vehical of cost Resources 5 or less.
- The original manse. This requires enough space, but the manse can anchor self in most areas. This unfolding can be with a miscellanious action and does not require a roll. The manse may be unfolded into the air, but does not provide essence regeneration to those inside while hovering; if anchored to earth or on water, it behaves normally.
- The hearthstone. This requires a miscellanious action.
- Any stone will have 4 forms in addition to the manse that it may be folded into with a miscellanious action without a roll. Storytellers should work with players to decide these. Many Folding Manses can act as a folding ship.
If the stone is killed or damaged while folded, it returns to it's hearthstone socket. If destroyed, the manse returns to it's demense and must be repaired.

I really like that ^_^

- Which one's "that"? _Ikselam
Actually, all of them so far. But I originally meant your trophy-gem.
