Mote Cost to Animate: 25 motes

Bonespike Catapults are squat-barrel like constructions of bone mounted over a fleshy sack and supported by four spidery legs. The name "catapult" is somewhat of a misnomer, as the Bonespike Catapult actually fires large javelins designed to damage Warstriders, city walls, and other siege weapons. Below the fleshy sack is a large mouth designed to pick up corpses from the ground for processing into more ammunition, though Bonespike Catapults are not always descriminating enough to choose corpses. They usually stand about 10 feet high and are 14 feet across at the broadest point.

Other Notes and Powers:

  • Consume: A Bonespike Catapult may pick up a corpse as an action. There is no roll required for this. If the Catapult attempts to seize a living victim, resolve it as a clinch attempt (though no damage is inflicted). The Catapult must win two turns in a row in order to draw the victim up into the flesh cavity, where a dozen arms proceed to rip the victim apart for processing. When inside the cavity, count the Catapult's Strength as doubled for purposes of determining clinch damage.
  • Ammunition: Bonespike Catapults may be created with the capacity for either 3 or 5 Javelins. It requires four corpses to produce enough bone for another javelin.
