The Nuroten are of the clay of the Malfean earth, that thin layer of dirt that covers the endless reaches of Zurahta and seperates the terrors above from the terrors below. The Draught of Flame, soul of the Green Sun, bakes the soil, and blesses it with his light; from that soil rises the Nuroten. They are shapeless creatures, howling with glee at their master's presence; they sing songs of his glory and dance to his majesty; their misshapen bodies forming themselves to their dance as it flows.

At any given time, they are strong, or fast, or tough, but never all; they have arms, or legs, or wings, or faces, but never all; they can sing, or dance, or prey, but never all. Their only joy and their only purpose is to revere their lord, which they do gladly and willingly until he dries the clay of their flesh and they crumble into nothingness.

They are often summoned by sorcerors to serve as essence batteries, granting their powers to an exalt as surely as to their master.
