Ekteinomai, Whose Fingers Trace the Sky as Roots

Szoreny is infinite, but that is not enough for some of its souls. Ekteinomai believes that the forest must stretch beyond its own infinity to impinge on the infinities of others. He wishes for the forest to stretch until the end of Cecelyne is overtaken with choking roots. He looks as a priest, tall and gaunt in long and flowing white robes with a black collar. He stretches his hands upwards always in supplication to something, babbling in an unknown language prayers of immense potence; those fingers stretch and bifurcate over and over, the tangled maze of a mangrove. Where he walks, strange miracles occur; the sunlight breaks through stone walls like a sword through flesh, and the voices of children turn so beautiful those who hear them hear them forever, blissfully deafening them. Bones reassemble the flesh they once had from their memories and run free, aging back towards their childhood, and the Wyld happily orders itself into overarching silver groves; these are a few of the things that he has caused, and he will likely never cause those same things again, seeking knew signs of his divinity. He is the improbable birth of new things, the transformation of the new into the old or vice versa, and a priest to those who hate constancy and limitation.

In Ekteinomai's presence, the sterile silver of Szoreny's trees sprouts fruit. Figs of steel hang fulsome from the roots of the great trees, and fall like a storm of meteors. Thus, the ground boils with the impact of metal fruit as copious as rain, and he walks unharmed among it. Ekteinomai passes most of these fruits as useless, but every so often sees one that has struck and killed a lesser being. These he collects and devours, for the blood of demons is as fertile pollen, and touching it those fruits are made real and sweet. He sucks the juicy flesh of the fruit away, leaving only a pit, and places the pit on a sterile vein of silver which sprouts into a great tree. So it is that Szoreny expands ever outwards, by Ekteinomai's labours alone.
