Falcon's Unflinching Gaze

 Prerequisite Charms: None

With this Charm, the character's eyes become inured to bright light. Even the most brilliant blaze cannot impair her vision; she can stare directly into the sun for hours without harm. Likewise, she is immune to all Charms and effects that use bright light to dazzle or blind.

Mongoose Eye Method

 Cost: 6 motes
 Duration: One scene
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Awareness: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Falcon's Unflinching Gaze, Sensory Acuity Prana

This Charm focuses the character's senses so that distracting or confusing movements cannot mislead her. She adds a number of automatic successes equal to her permanent Essence score to all Awareness dice pools to counter stealth. Moreover, she ignores all Charms that rely on distraction and misdirection, such as Snake Form, Distracting Finger-Gesture Attack and Unbreakable Fascination Kata, unless the opponent has a higher permanent Essence.

Pitiless Stare of the Sun

 Cost: 8 motes, 1 Willpower
 Duration: One scene
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Awareness: 5
 Minimum Essence: 3
 Prerequisite Charms: Mongoose Eye Method, Keen Sight Technique

With this Charm, the character's gaze grows as bleak and pitiless as the noonday sun. She may gaze upon perfect beauty and feel nothing, or view the worst atrocity without flinching. She gains perfect immunity to any and all visual effects that affect emotions, including anything whose appearance normally demands a Willpower or Virtue roll. Note that while the character no longer responds emotionally to what she sees, her emotions remain intact; she can still judge right from wrong, and her heart may still be touched through her other senses.

Comments

I think I would make Mongoose Eye fail to protect against Charms employed by beings whose permanent Essence is higher than the character's. Otherwise I think it's an overly-cheap way of completely negating some really killer Charms, like Unbreakable Fascination Kata and Distracting Figer-Gesture Attack.

Good call. Mongoose Eye Method was designed in large part to deal with Distracting Finger-Gesture Attack, which I think is overly-cheap in general :) ... but yeah, there's a limit. Change made. I've also added another couple of requisites. Thanks for the praise! - Quendalon
