Raging Boar Style

The Style of the Raging Boar God is a style inspired by Ryouga Hibiki of Ranma 1/2. Done in 2nd Edition. If Terrestrial martial arts MUST be elementally attuned, this is Fire Aspected, though not the sprightly fire of a dancing candle flame, no this is the style to emulate the unstoppable charge of a raging wildfire! Otherwise it is unaspected, as it was (in my campaigns) created by a minor war god of the far southeast back in the First Age.
Strategy Note: Despite being a strictly close-combat style, The Style of the Raging Boar God is well-suited to battling ranged opponents, and has techniques to open up space between it's adherents and other close-combatants so that the Raging Boar can rush and trample his foes to best effect!

The Raging Boar Style is incompatible with the use of armour. This style uses twin khatar or twin daggers as style weapons, they may be employed and still allow the Martial Artist to do regular knockback as though punching or kicking.

Using any of the charms in the Raging Boar Style to augment an attack makes it difficult to pull attacks; pulling an attack that is augmented by a Raging Boar charm is at double the difficulty for pulling the attack.

All charms in this style cost +1 Mote to activate by someone who's Temperance is greater than his Valour.

Charms

Mighty Boar
Cost: 2 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 2, Essence 1; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prereqs: None
The Boar is an animal of strength and a lord of the jungle. The first offensive technique taught allows the Martial Artist to channel his strength, the better to flatten and knock aside the lesser threats about him. When activated, this charm permits the Boar Stylist to boost the difficulty to resist knockback from his blows by his permanent Essence.

Great Boar's Lunge
Cost: 5 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prereqs: Mighty Boar
The Boar charges without restraint or pity into the fray! Until his DV refreshes, the Boar Stylist may increase the Raw Damage of any attacks that immediately follow a charge (uninterrupted movement in a roughly direct course towards the enemy) at a rate of +1 per tick of Move actions (must use the maximum Move distance possible) or by +3 per tick of Dash (must use the maximum Move distance possible) up to twice the Raw Damage of the attack.
Eg: Mnemon Garvak (Str 5, Dex 3, MA 5, Essence 3) is chasing his rival through a mostly-flattened ruin. When his foe uses his Air-aspect power to leap to the top of a segment of 20 yard tall brick wall , from which he starts tossing chakrams. Having chased him for the last 2 minutes, Garvak has built up a good head of steam, and uses Great Boar's Lunge to barrel into the base of the wall. He scores a whopping 10 successes, for a Raw Damage of 15L (Lethal due to Raging Boar Form) which is increased by another 15 (Dashing for more than 5 ticks, for a maximum of double Raw Damage) to 30L. With a resounding crash, Garvak smashes into the ancient brickwork, leaving a 5-foot wide crushed indent, shaking some of the upper portions loose and reducing it from (Damaged 24/Destroyed 40) to (Damaged 0/Destroyed 16) Health Levels... his rival better start rethinking his refuge in height philosophy!

Steady Boar
Cost: 2 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 2, Essence 1; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prereqs: None
The Boar is also a stalwart and sturdy animal, tough and uncompromising. The first defensive technique taught allows the Martial Artist to withstand the efforts of lesser beings to displace him. When activated, this charm allows the user to add his Martial Arts to any roll to resist knockback or knockdown.

Hearty Boar's Fortitude
Cost: 4 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: 1 Scene
Prereqs: Steady Boar
With sufficient toughening exercises, the adherents of the Raging Boar Style learn to completely dismiss the flea-bites of lesser foes. For the rest of the scene, the Martial Artist gains a Hardness equal to his Stamina to Bashing attacks.

Raging Boar Form
Cost: 6 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Simple (DV -1)
Keywords: Form-Type, Obvious
Duration: 1 Scene
Prereqs: Great Boar's Lunge, Hearty Boar's Fortitude
Drawing in the stubborn ferocity of the Boar, the Martial Artist assuming the Raging Boar Form gains Bashing Soak equal to his Martial Arts, and gains a number of -4 Health Levels equal to his permanent Willpower. As usual these Health Levels cannot be healed of lost. If (after the charm terminates) the character has taken more damage than he has remaining health levels, all damage past incapacitated are dropped. As with most form charms, this form is incompatible with the use of other Form charms.

Tusks of the Boar Technique
Cost: 3 motes; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 3; Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prereqs: Raging Boar Form
A blow enhanced with this technique is a blow granted the might of a war god. Any unarmed attack will do Lethal piercing damage, and the Martial Artist may parry Lethal without a stunt until his next action.

Unstoppable Boar's Stance
Cost: 2 motes, 1 Willpower; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Until Control is Lost
Prereqs: Raging Boar Form
With such brute power and stubborn will as a practitioner of the Raging Boar Style can bring to bear, trying to pin one is often a futile act. If the Martial Artist is forced to maintain a clinch or finds himself in a clinch he does not control, he may add his Strength in extra dice to the roll, and may ignore his Essence Rating worth of multiple opponents if targetted for a team attack. He can also move or even dash (as part of a flurry) freely so long as he was upright when he was clinched.
Eg: If Mnemon Garvak (Str 5, Dex 3, MA 5, Essence 3) is attacked by 6 bandits, five dogpiling him as a sixth attempts to run him through once he's immobilized, he would resist a maintenance roll by the first bandit, that was augmented by a teamwork bonus of 1 die (Max bonus is # of extra grapplers - Essence) when he tried to break free -- only if all the grappling bandits succeed on grappling him -- no bonus for the bandits if any less than all the grapplers succeeded on catching him, and his roll to break free would be at (Str*2 + MA) or 15 dice.

Bristle Back Defense
Cost: 3 motes, 1 Willpower; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2; Type: Simple (DV -1)
Keywords: None
Duration: 1 Scene
Prereqs: Raging Boar Form
The Raging Boar Stylist gains the ability to soak Lethal damage with his Bashing Soak, can employ the Hardness from Hearty Boar's Fortitude against Lethal attacks and reduces Wound Penalties by 1/2, though -1's remain -1's.

Thundering Charge of The Boar God
Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower, 1 LHL; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 4; Type: Extra Action
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prereqs: Tusks of the Boar Technique, Unstoppable Boar's Stance, Bristle Back Defense
This Technique allows the Raging Boar master to unleash his rage, mitigated (if that) only by his intelligent desire to crush his foes before him in a single unstoppable charge. The Martial Artist makes a Speed 5, DV -3 flurry that permits him to make his normal dash movement each tick and perform a tackle attack with no risk of tripping unless traversing particularly hazardous terrain. Each time his movement brings him in contact with a foe he may perform a tackle at full dice pool, sweeping that enemy along and coincidentally performing an identical success-level-hit on anyone who's being carried along by this charge. Alternately, if the Martial Artist strikes a solid inanimate object, he may attempt to break the object with his charge, doing Base damage to anyone he's holding before him equal to his strength + the Lethal Soak of the object he rams and doing double the Raw Damage to the object for the attempt to break it. The Raging Boar master is able to defer any damage from attacks that hit him during this flurry until he either is stopped in his tracks, or until he makes his last attack during this flurry, including counterattacks (though he is not proof against instant-death moves like Soul Mastery). No more than one victim (or a number of extras equal to half his strength) can be held on each mighty arm, though the Martial Artist can reflexively drop anyone he's holding during a tick he isn't hitting someone/thing with that arm. The Martial Artist will be brought to a halt if he fails to destroy any inanimate object he collides with or after making twice his Essence in attacks. This charm can be activated while in control of a clinch.
