Honey And Venom

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: One scene

  • Minimum Essence: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: None

Couching her words in soporific tones and supporting them with half-truths, the Infernal removes the bitter tang of her words. Regardless of whether her words are agreed with or what they imply of her nature, nobody will think any worse of her for having said them, and she will not be perceived as having broken any social customs.

Glance Of Treacherous Insight

  • Cost: 3 motes per die

The Infernal meets her rival’s eye, and within her own gaze is revealed all her lines of logic and motivation; faced with such a display, the subject of this Charm unwillingly begins to speak in support of the Infernal rather than against her. The Infernal may steal die from her opponent’s Socialise dice pool to add to her own, provided they are within (their Perception x 5) yards and not blinded.

Bloodied Nails Retort

  • Cost: 3 motes
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Reflexive
  • Minimum Socialise: 3
  • Minimum Essence: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Honey And Venom

You cannot throw mud without getting your hands dirty, and especially so when accusing Infernal Exalted. When the Infernal is subject to a social attack – a public insult or accusation, she may make a cutting remark and invoke this Charm. For all onlookers, the attacker is made out as debase as they manage to make the Infernal seem; foolishness, desperation or corruption seem to be the reasons they levied the attack, regardless of their true motive.

Gore For The Hounds

  • Type: Simple

  • Minimum Essence: 2
  • Prerequisite Charms: Bloodied Nails Retort

Lynch mobs are a dangerous foe, but a stupid one This Charm allows the Infernal to nominate a scapegoat from amongst her loyal followers, with a quick word to the crowd or the nominee in question (such as “He’s the one you want” or “Take care of this for me” respectively). Anyone with an Essence lower than the Infernal will be satisfied with inflicting the harm they wished on the Infernal on the scapegoat instead. The scapegoat must be in the Infernal’s confidence and vice versa for this Charm to function; it distorts ideals of trust and sacrifice.

Defiling Words Technique

  • Cost: 5 motes, 1 Willpower
  • Duration: Instant
  • Type: Simple
  • Minimum Socialise: 4
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Bloodied Nails Retort

Summoning all of his hatred, the Infernal tells another person of how she loathes them, how lowly she considers them, the terrible fates she wishes upon them. Make an opposed roll of the Infernal’s Manipulation + Wrath against the target’s Perception + Temperance, with stunt die for good damnations or retorts. Should the Infernal succeed, the target is so incensed by her insult that they despise her equally, and will act on this hatred accordingly. Overlooking a good opportunity to harm the Infernal physically or socially costs them a point of Willpower (and gives them a point of Limit, if Solar).

Painting In Tar

  • Cost: 8 motes, 1 Willpower
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Simple
  • Minimum Socialise: 4
  • Minimum Essence: 3
  • Prerequisite Charms: Bloodied Nails Retort

The Infernal casts aspersions on another, criticising their evident faults and stirring indignation against them. These words cling to them, filmy strands of invisible essence that dance across their skin teasingly. Whether they were present to hear her words or not, others will instinctively shun the subject for as long as the essence for this Charm is committed, rejecting their attempts at communication. The Infernal makes a Manipulation + Socialise roll when activating this Charm; anyone encountering the subject must succeed at a Willpower roll at a difficulty equal to the successes rolled to avoid ignoring the subject whilst the Charm persists. Spending a point of temporary Willpower allows someone to treat the subject normally for a scene.

Thrice Flayed Herald

  • Cost: 3 motes, 1 Willpower
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Type: Simple
  • Minimum Socialise: 5
  • Minimum Essence: 4
  • Prerequisite Charms: Glance Of Treacherous Insight, Gore For The Hounds

Given privy to a mortal’s confidence, the Infernal flenses away their own thoughts to leave a shallow imprint of her own. The subject of the Charm must trust the Infernal and listen to her words without trace of suspicion; thereafter, they are effectively a puppet, always saying and doing what the Infernal would wish them to. The subject gains a Socialise score equal to the Exalt’s own whilst essence is still committed to the Charm, and the Infernal’s player may play the mortal’s actions as her own.

Feedback

I would suggest that regarding Painting in Tar, a willpower either a) gives an automatic success (for a single roll or topic of conversation) or b) lets you reroll and add successes... Otherwise, since there are no target limitations, it becomes trivially easy for an infernal using die-stealers and channelling and such to make just about anyone ignored by just about everyone else, unless they can somehow break the charm with other effects.
