The Five Ensui Swords
History
During the period before the Terrestrial Uprising, a Twilight Sorcerer, Larquen Quen, became aware of certain properties of one of the Five Legendary Elemental Items. He realised that he might be able to take advantage of these properties to gain ultamate power and fulfill his destiny. He managed to steal Dark Water from it's rightful owner. He analysed the patterns in the essence flows in the item and ran tests to discover just what it was made from. In due time he divined all of the item's secrets and discovered how to make one for each of the other four elements. He also devised a design for a sixth item, that would bind the power of the Five Elemental Swords together and give him the might to fullfill his destiny TO RULE THE WORLD! Fortuntly for some, the Terrestrial Uprising intervened and Quen was forced to flee with the unfinished artifacts. However, some say that he survived and finished the swords in exile. If so they would be items of power that rival the originals.
The Five Elemental Swords:
Air: Ensui, The Sour Facination
Earth: Ensui, The Distant Slumber
Fire: Ensui, The Refined Flame
Water: Ensui, The Dark Water
Wood: Ensui, The General of the Imperial Garden
Ensui, General
All of the Ensui swords require large amounts of elementaly assocated essence. There are three ways of getting this essence. The first is for the attuned user to use their own essence. The second is to put a hearthstone of the same elemental type into the power setting. This allows the sword to hold more essence on it's own and regain essence equal to the level of the hearthstone once every hour. The third is by using the swords' innate ability to absorb their assocated element. Each sword can absorb a certain amount of elemental matter each turn, refining it down into the pure essence of the element. Each sword can hold a number of motes of essence equal to the attuned user's essence + four times the level of the hearthstone in the power hearthstone setting. These motes can only be used to power the various magical abilities of the swords.
Each sword has 10 powers ranged into five levels, two powers per level. Only the first level ones are avalible to new owners.
All powers require elementally appropreate essence. If an attuned user's innate essence is not of the proper elemental type the the user must pay twice as much essence to activate the powers, so that the sword can refine it to match it's own element.
All of the swords require 5 motes to attune and automatically harmonizes with Solars and DBs.
Dark Water
Water Control Powers
Level 1: Create Ice Blade - This power creates a sword blade out of ice. The blade has stats as a normal daiklave. However any user who harmonizes with the sword gets different bonuses due to the blade's watery nature. Because the blade can stretch and move to make better hits and parries, it gives +1 to speed, accuracy, and defense instead of the normal harmonization bonuses. (For power combat it gets +3 to rate instead.) Two motes to activate for a scene.
Spirit Control Powers
Level 1: Phase Blade - activating this power causes the blade to flow into the spaces between where spirits hide. (by paying two motes, the blade becomes capable of attacking dematerialised beings for the rest of the turn.)
Sour Facination
Air Control Powers
Level 1: Create Wind Blade - This power creates a sword blade out of wind. The blade has stats as a reaper daiklave. However any user who harmonizes with the sword gets different bonuses due to the blade's windy nature. Because the blade's winds can be stretched far from the sword, it gives +2 to speed instead of the normal harmonization bonuses. (For power combat it gets the same.) Two motes to activate for a scene.

Earth Control Powers
Level 1: Create Stone Blade - This power creates a sword blade out of stone. The blade has stats as a grand daiklave. Refined Flame
Fire Control Powers
Level 1: Create Flame Blade - This power creates a sword blade out of fire. The blade has stats as a reaver daiklave. Notes
Ok some OOC notes in these items. The names were stolen from the manga series, Flame of Recca as was the idea for the sword of water. The japanese names for the weapons are to represent the name in the dilect of Old Realm that they were named in and the english is the translation. My game is more anime/video game based than average and I have a friend who is learning Japanese, thus my use of Japanese as Old Realm or a variant thereof. Anyway, the names for the swords are all pronounced the same but their spellings are different, thus the different meanings.

I wonder if you would be willing to put the names up in kanji, for those of us who can read it? Or possibly make a linked image of the different names? I'd be interested in seeing what you used. -Okensha
- I'd like to help, but I wouldn't know where to find pictures of the kanji or which ones to use (as it was my friend who figured out the names). I'll ask my friend though if he might be able to come up with something. --BrilliantRain
