Meaning of the Ability

Infernal Exalted use the Dodge ability to:

  • Step back from the clutching hands of their foes, that they might never face the imprisonment of their progenitors (Penitent)
  • Go unpunished, that their victims shall not have the opportunity (Inquisitor)
  • Ignore the consequences of the insignificant attacks of the unenlightened (Ascendant)
  • Evade the false might wielded by their enemies (Crusader)
  • Serenely ignore the objections of the unenlightened, even when those objections come in the form of swords (Concordant)

To avoid, she stood in its path.

Say this out loud seven times before brainstorming Charms: Dodge is a Penitent Ability. Thematically it is about escaping from consequences, the traps your enemies would have you locked in, and from danger. --Kukla, copying MUrielw's format

Charm ideas

Infernal Dodge Charms grant the power to avoid consequences - to separate yourself from cause and effect. You murder the king - you are not punished. You are cut - you are not wounded. You are beheaded - you do not die. -- Kukla

Perhaps they are protected from responses to their actions? Something like "For each attack you make, you may add a number of dice to your next Dodge action." -- Somori

Commentary

If we're lining up Virtues with Abilities, Dodge should use Compassion. --MUrielw

Make it instant so it can be comboed - Dasmen turns into a tree and leaves...

Let's not write up the mechanics for actual charms until we've not only seen the Solar charmset but gotten a good handle on tactics and balance. --MUrielw

I agree. That's why I haven't been participating much here lately. Cause I want to get a grip on what the Solars can do in the new edition before we start creating solid mechanics for the Infernals. Epsilon
