AppearanceExplanation

Why appearance?

Some people want to make an ugly character. That's fine.

In use of these rules, I would suggest having a different interpretation of appearance. Instead of being pretty or ugly, appearance can mean how impressive the character is. You can still be hideous with an appearance of 4, but hot damn are you scary!

Also, charisma and manipulation are diametrically opposed, so I think it's more reasonable to have the third option be the standard.

Lastly, this new "interpretation" makes appearance a little more useful. It can now be used for intimidation or influence rolls and the like. Command a talon with appearance? Sure! Because no one wants to disobey the dude who looks like he could kick your ass.

In this logic: A Changing Moon doesn't have to be particularly charismatic (ostrich totem? [you know those guys are up to no good!])or underhanded (dog totem? [loyal and domestic]). There just shouldn't be a single Changing Moon who is completely unimpressive.

Nice idea; have you seen Shataina's houserules on Appearance? She explores the concept a little further and, as a result, good house rules is what's for dinner...DeathBySurfeit

Aww, I feel so loved. Thanks.
