Nicolau Torhemata, Scarlet Brand of the Unconquered Sun

Nicolau is a tall man, beautiful and dignified but nearly overshadowed by his garb; scarlet robes highlighted with purest white, overlaying a shimmering golden tunic. The gold and ivory crown that tops his head serves only to highlight the shimmering caste mark that glows forever on his brow.
He is stern and merciless but honest and true, and his interest in furthering the faith of the unconquered sun is due not just to self-aggrandizing megalomania but also a legitimate interest in repairing heaven and making the world work again.
He sees himself as a spiritual leader first and foremost, and has no interest in temporal rule; he views it as a series of uninteresting dealings and unimportant things.
