Medaeos, the Murderer of Kin, Defining Soul of the Salter of the Earth

Prodisia found once, long ago, that it was not in the nature of the Yozi to accept rebellion, even one designed for their own benefit such as hers. And so she designed Medaeos to be the soul at her heart, one who would hear most keenly her struggle, one who would be utterly without conscience in fulfilling her ambitions. Some would say that she has proven too effective; for Medaeos is not merely without conscience and remorse, but rather enjoys his work. Medaeos is the desire to betray, and the urge to kill. His one dream is to cut away the Soapstone Heart; not, as his mother wishes, to improve their Yozi patron, but rather simply because Prodisia worked into his nature that he is unable to harm her directly.

Medaeos appears as a tall, lithe grinning man with kind eyes, usually a northerner with pale skin and hair. He speaks soothingly and is often praised for his eloquence and sincerity. He always has one hand behind his back holding a knife, although few notice. He shuns battle and war, and speaks eloquently against them; and he would never strike from stealth unless forced to. He much prefers to make victims feel the personal betrayal of his actions. He will do battle to protect those that love him, but only so that he may harm them more later.
