Solar Occult Charms by CrownedSun

God-Scrutinizing Stare

 Cost: 6 mote
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Occult: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Spirit-Detecting Glance

In any dealings with the invisible lords of the world, knowledge is power. All those skilled in the occult lore that is passed from wise woman to shaman to priest know much of the gods, and can often identify common divinities and know how best to approach and deal with them. All of that knowledge is useless, however, compared to the supreme insight that the Solar Exalt with the God-Scrutinizing Stare can harness. Eyes glowing bright gold, displaying his nature as Prince of the Earth, the Exalt gains an intuitive sense of the divinity which he is scrutinizing.

This allows him to determine a number of facts about that godling; he can determine the creatures rough power (it's Essence), identify its type (a City-Father, a spirit of the road, etc), the god's inner being (the god's Nature and a rough idea of its virtue ratings), and some insight into the creatures habits and goals. Make a Perception + Occult roll. One success lets you get a feeling for how the god currently feels toward you, three successes lets you identify the spirits proper place in the Celestial Hierarchy, and five successes lets you sniff out some hints towards the spirit's activities and larger goals.

A Solar with this Charm can use Spirit-Detecting Glance to spot any spirit with an Essence lower than 6, even if the god is using some magical method to conceal its ntaure. This Charm does not, itself, allow the Exalt to see or interact with dematerialized spirits.

Divine Emissary Form

 Cost: 8 motes, 1 willpower
 Duration: One day
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Occult: 5
 Minimum Essence: 3
 Prerequisite Charms: God-Scrutinizing Stare

A Solar using this charm finds his castemark burning hot upon his brow, though not strongly enough to burn through any covering. Any god within eyesight of the Exalt instantly notices the castemark (even through a helm, headband or other covering), and knows that the Prince of Earth is both present and has invoked this charm. This effect lasts for the rest of the day, and cannot be cancelled ahead of time.

While this charm is in effect, the Exalt is filled with some of the authority and regal bearing of the Unconquered Sun, and that divinity's power empowers all of their dealings with the occult. Any prayer roll made while this Charm is active gains a number of bonus dice equal to the character's Occult rating, unless you are praying to one of the Celestines, the Five Elemental Dragons, or similar powers. Actual face-to-face dealings with spirits are also empowered by this Charm, and the character's social attributes are doubled for these purposes. Any spirit with an Essence over the Solar's suffers no further effects from this charm, but weaker spirits can be mentally compelled by the authority of the Solar.

When faced with such a spirit, the Solar Exalt spends a point of temporary Willpower and makes a Willpower roll. The character needs three successes to affect spirits of his own Essence rating, and two for spirits with an Essence rating one less than his own. A single success will effect weaker divinities. If successfully compelled, the god will obey the Solar's commands for as long as this Charm is active or until he leaves the presence of the Exalt.

Often, spirits so compelled form an 'entourage' for the Solar. They will not obey any commands that violate their own natures or require them to act directly against their official superiors in the Celestial Hierarchy, but any other command is possible.

This charm has no effect on ghosts or demons.
