Shadow in the Noonday Sun

 Cost: 4 Motes, 1 Willpower
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Reflexive
 Min Dodge: 5
 Min Essence: 3
Prereqs: Seven Shadow Evasion, Leaping Dodge Method (From CB:N)

While Seven Shadow Evasion allows a Chosen to avoid any single mundane attack, there are some powerful attacks that its magic fails against. This Charm was developed to rectify that problem. When it is used, the Exalt may dodge any single attack he wishes, including attacks which are not normally dodgeable--this is a Perfect effect. If there is no room for the dodge, the attack will simply pass harmlessly through his body (or, in some cases, his body will vanish like a shadow out of the way of the attack), leaving no trace of its passage behind. The Exalt may also, if he chooses, leap away during his dodge up to (Strength + Athletics) * 3 yards vertically or twice that horizontally. This will break a series of attacks if the attacker has no way to follow the Exalt.

Damnit, you beat me to a good idea, and even came up with the same name :) (I was thinking Noonday Shadow Stance). I like your idea about the jumpaway by the way, well worth the extra mote. Min Essence seems a little high though, since HGD is only essence 2 ability 4. Something to consider perhaps? (Finally, as an effect suggestion, if the exalt has no room/time to dodge, perhaps the exalt should flicker out like a shadow, and then reform like anime characters do when they emerge from the centre of huge explosions they "couldn't possibly survive" )

I thought HGD was ability 5? The extra Essence is in there because of the incorporation of Leaping Dodge Method, since it can break an attack chain (which HGD can't do). Added the effect possibility, too. It's a good idea ^_^ -Dorchadas

When it says "Leap away", does it actually mean 'leap'? I mean, I can imagine a situation where we've got two exactly 6-foot-tall characters fighting in a large room with exactly 6-foot-high ceilings. Leaping really isn't an option, but at the same time, I can see the effect allowing you to still move ((Str+Ath)*3) away, even though leaping is technically impossible. -- GregLink

So you either flicker into a blur of light before rematerialising behind them, or you smash through the ceiling and land down on the other side, whichever is coolest. This is Exalted, not Advanced Engineering. Wielding 6ft blades in combat, creating burning projectiles from nothingness and summoning attendant tornadoes for transport purposes are all technically impossible too...DeathBySurfeit
