When she activates this Combo, Felica's daiklave seems to burn with an inner fire, a fire that bursts out to form a serrated edge of flame along the blade. For a moment, time seems to hang, motionless, as wisps of fire swirl around her target in every direction. Then in a blur of motion, Felica rushes forward, dropping to one knee and allowing her Essence to guide her hand past her opponent's blade and between the plates of her opponent's armor. As the blade sinks in, the fire wrapped around it leaps off and engulfs the unfortunate target.
By spending 3 motes and a Willpower to activate the Combo, Felica adds +2 dice to her attack roll, +2 damage and ignites her blade. She may spend up to two additional motes to increase her attack roll by 2 dice/mote, and up to three additional motes to increase her damage by +2/mote. If the attack is successful, the target is set on fire for a turn and must soak 4L environmental damage before the flame gutters out. She may split her dice pool to perform this attack multiple times per turn as usual.

Description

A distant cousin of Sharlu's, Felica little resembles the Hunt leader. She is quite pretty, with the characteristic red hair of her family (which Sharlu also had, once upon a time) in a short warrior's cut, a single narrow braid running down her back. Almost all her clothes are black, with occasional red jade highlights (as on her buff jacket), and she has never been known to smile in public. A graduate of the Heptagram like Reqev, Felica views her sorcery as a tool, nothing more, and disapproves of the uses to which Reqev puts his training. Unusually martial for a Heptagram student, Felica volunteered for the Hunt after she left secondary school. In truth, she had wanted desperately to attend the House of Bells, but her scholarly parents insisted on the Heptagram, and so she went. Her dedication to the Hunt is not truly religious, but dedicated she is nonetheless. Sharlu never has to worry about whether Felica will support the Hunt's eoffrts, whatever her motivations.

Combat Notes

Power-Up (2 turns, 11 motes, 1 Willpower)
Five-Dragon Blocking Technique, Smoke Obscuring Effect targeting Sharlu, Chesu, Mindori and Petal of Ash
Opening Move
Attack with Pyrefalcon, enhanced with Five-Dragon-Force Blow, 2m (see pg 198 of E:DB), against target of opportunity.
Typical Offense
If able to successfully attack with Pyrefalcon, will continue Five-Dragon-Force Blow strikes, once per turn.
If facing opponent with layered or unusually strong defenses, Felica will switch to Stoking Bonfire Style (E:DB, pg 208) or use her Agony of the Vanquished Combo (see above) if soak also appears to be a problem. She will also use Stoking Bonfire Style at 3m/attack (Acc 16, 15, 14) to attempt multiple strikes if truly high soak seems to be at issue, forgoing the damage enhancement of Agony of the Vanquished.
Typical Defense
Felica has a persistant 4 die parry and can reflexively increase her soak with Five-Dragon Fortitude, 1m/2B or 1L (see pg 197 of E:DB), and these are her primary defenses. Facing multiple enemies in tight formation, she will switch to Safety Among Enemies, 3m/dodge (pg 206 of E:DB). Facing a Combo, SAE is her first choice, followed by aborting to a full unarmed parry, using Flickering Candle Meditation to buy a dodge, 1m/2 dice (see pg 205 of E:DB) and using Five-Dragon Fortitude to increase her soak.
Other Notes
Felica's powered-up stats include her typical casting of Unbreakable Bones of Stone, 20m+1WP (see pg 123 of Savant and Sorcerer) but her power-up cost does not reflect the spell. This is because Felica casts UBoS every morning when in the field, and the spell lasts until sunset. She then usually meditates for an hour before the Hunt moves out for the day, and continues to gain 4m/hour until the cost is repaid. If the encounter occurs after 11 AM, assume she has restored all her Essence, though she will likely still be down a Willpower.
