The Four Divine Alterations

Sideral Insights revolve around the concept of controlling one's surroundings, and being able to use sheer force of will and body to ensure that desired outcomes come to pass. As an additional note, the Sidereal Insight Divine Functionary's Will is special for the purposes of Occult and Martial Arts. In the case of Martial Arts, the prerequisite is altered to "One complete Celestial Martial Art". In the case of Occult, the prerequisite is "Celestial Circle Sorcery".

Sideral Insights cost 10 XP if Favoured, and 12 XP if not Favoured.

Divine Functionary's Will</b>

<b>Cost: None Mins: (Ability) 7, Essence 7, Type: Special
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisites: The Prayer Strip Charm of the related Ability.

A true Sidereal functionary knows that their will can get them by when other forces might fail them. The Sidereal may spend 1 Willpower instead of up to 6 motes of Essence when activating Charms of this Ability; the Willpower may power any Charms activated on this tick. Spent Essence is considered Personal for the purpose of anima flare.

Divine Priest's Martyrdom</b>

<b>Cost: None Mins: (Ability) 8, Essence 8, Type: Special
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisites: Divine Functionary's Will

The body and soul are as one to a true Sidereal master. Whenever the character spends health levels to activate a Charm, she recovers her Essence worth of motes.

Divine Fool's Reversal</b>

<b>Cost: None Mins: (Attribute) 9, Essence 9, Type: Special
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisites: Divine Priest's Martyrdom

The masterful Sidereal can change her mind after the fact. The character may freely activate a Combo containing a Charm she has already used this action. In addition, she may choose to selectively activate Combos, activating only the Charms in the Combo she wishes to, even if they are Simple, Supplemental, or Extra Action. Charms that are activated must still be legal, and this Charm does not alter the rules of Combo construction, only activation.

Divine Minister's Understanding</b>

<b>Cost: None Mins: (Attribute) 10, Essence 10, Type: Special
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisites: Divine Fool's Reversal

The Sidereals are the ultimate masters of the Loom, and this Insight shows their supremacy. Whenever the Sidereal's action is contested by a perfect effect, she may spend 1 Willpower. The contested effect ceases being perfect, and her own action becomes perfect. The user of the original perfect effect may spend 1 Willpower to resist this effect; if so, both effects become perfect and resolve accordingly.

I'm a little concerned you're playing games with perfects - sure, it fits your theories, but it's dangerous. I'd encourage you to find a different way to find an Essence 10 charm for Sidereals. On an unrelated note, I notice that none of these affect TN's - perhaps something to permanently lower TNs, so they needn't use charm activations, motes, et cetera? -- GreenLantern

I agree; I mentioned to Friv earlier that I was a little dubious about that top one too. Especially seeing as it can beat perfect defenses - that seems somehow wrong. - TheHoverpope

I disagree. It allows the defender to spend a willpower to get around it, re-applying the perfection of their defense, and re-instating the Immovable Object supremacy. Besides. ESSENCE TEN. Far before this point, before Essence five even, antagonists could learn Hungry Ghost Style (or Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style, if Sidereal MA is an option for the antagonist), and simply stop the PC from actually activating the perfect defense charm. Those solutions create an Essence war of activations, counters, and re-activations (assuming the PC is allowed to re-attempt activation of his perfect defense charm, though such might be construed to violate the "one charm activation per instant" rule). This one creates a one-step willpower war. I am highly in favor of this solution for the entirely theoretical entity, the "Essence 10 Sidereal Exalt." (Even the canon version of Chejop Kejak doesn't have Essence 10, only 7 or 8) - IanPrice
Truthfully, I am less concerned about the Essence 10 Charm mechanically than I am thematically. After I finished it, I sort of stared at it a bit and frowned. I wanted something to be thematically similar to the Lunar "Your perfects don't touch me" thing, but I agree that the result is less good. I may create a TN issue for Essence 10, if I can think of how...
That being said, Ian, where do you get the idea that Chejop is only Essence 7 or 8? The dude's 3500 years old. If there is any Essence 10 Exalt ANYWHERE, it's him. - FrivYeti
I don't own the Siddie book, so I was working on memory from that. Thought it statted him out there when I posted that. Though come to think of it, I was probably subconsciously extrapolating from Ma-Ha-Suchi, who is a Lunar who's been alive since the First Age (which puts him over 1000 years old and thus quite eligible for Essence 9 or 10), who was statted out with only Essence 7 in first edition. The only being we've been explicitly told in canon has Essence 10 is the First and Forsaken Lion, as far as I know. - IanPrice

However, GCG said that CK has Essence 10. I can not bring up the quote, since it is ANCIENT. And, Maha-Suchi was young in the First age (was he reall ever statted out? Where? to only place where I ever saw his Essence 7 is in the above mentioned GCG quote). CK was born ant the end of thi Primo-wars. And Ex 2 MoW Has essence 10 *shudders*- Azurelight

Why so he does! Hm. Well, Ma-Ha-Suchi is statted in the Lunar book, of that I'm certain. Looks like I was wrong about good ol' carjack. - IanPrice

No He Isn't. I just browsed the Lunar Book. Not a SINGLE character is statted in that teratoma. MAby you are confusing it with a Very good and professional write up of Maha that frequented the net a while back? -Azurelight

Actually the Lunar book does have a statted out Chimera. No-one else though. --BrilliantRain
