Last Rose of CecelyneDarkPhoenix/B>

<B>HistoryDarkPhoenix/B>

Made of Green Jade, and fused with still living wood, the Last Rose of Cecelyne can probably trace it's origins back to the days the Primordials roamed the earth, or at least back to the Primordial War. Through means unknown, the wood used to craft the bow is still alive, and as such, the bow retains ties with Gaia. The bow's name is believed by First-Age savants to be tied in with the Primordial Cecelyne, who helped Gaia in the shaping of Creation.

Among the Terrestrials, particularly those of the Realm and the Immaculate Order, this weapon is known by a different name: <b>The Thousand-Fold Fangs of Sextes Jylis. Immaculate Order savants believe that it may, in fact, be one of the five perfect weapons, created upon conception of the Wood Dragon Immaculate Path, as manifestation of all things Wood Dragon Style stands for. To date, no one is in agreement on which view is correct, but this is mainly due to warring ideals from both sides.

The bow can fire regular arrows, through which it's just a standard powerbow, albeit stronger than most. It's true strength lies in it's ability to 'grow' it's own arrows. These arrows are similarly tied to the bow and Gaia, and as such can't be taken away and fired from another bow. To actually use this ability, the person wishing to do so must pay the full attunement costs (4 for Wood-Aspect, 8 for other), as though to get the Magical Material bonus; by some strange twist, Lunar's pay only 6 motes, instead of the normal 8 off-caste cost.

But even these arrows are only a sign of the bow's true power. These arrows can contain any natural poison the user wishes, even those found in Wylf-tainted creatures, so long as it hasn't been synthesised by man. However, for exotic poisons, such as those of Wyld beasts, the user must pay some of their essence to fuel the creation; for more mundane poisons, the bow itself has all the power it needs.

Artifact 5
Green Jade Powerbow
Commitment: 4 motes (Wood aspect)/6 motes (Lunar)/8 motes (Other)

Last Rose of Cecelyne: Accuracy +4, Damage +5L, Rate 5, Range 400
Thorn Arrow: Accuracy +2^, Damage (Str+2)L* Piercing
Spore Arrow: Speed +5^^, Damage (Str+4)B**

* Thorn arrows usually contain poison, but can be grown without it. Generally, this is a fairly mundane poison (Diff <=3 to resist), but for 1 mote, they can contain more exotic poisons (Diff 4+). The exact extra effects of the exotic poisons can be anything, but should be agreed upon beforehand. Note that the difficulties listed are recommended difficulties, as some canon poisons don't fit these guidlines (Death Sap, Diff 4, is argueably not an exotic poison, but Firesnake Venom Diff 3, clearly is).

Also note that the poisons need not be harmful, and, instead of poison, may infact contain drugs/medicine. In that event, rather than causing health levels of damage, the 'poison' may in fact restore them, but a Stamina + Resistance roll will still be required; not to resist the medicine/drug, but to resist addiction to it. Thus, the duration/penalty is still appropriate, to determine how long someone needs to go 'cold turkey' to break the addiction, and the reduction to their pool for that duration. Note that these medicines could be used aggresively by forcing drug addiction on one's enemies.

** Spore arrows usually contain a pouch of spores, which explodes on contact with anything, regardless of what it hits, but they can be grown without it. Like the thorn arrows, this is usually a mundane spore cloud (Diff <= 3), roughly (Resist Diff x 5) feet in diameter), but for one mote it ca be exotic (Diff 4+). The exact extra effects of the exotic spores can be anything, but should be agreed upon beforehand. The 'spore pouch' can also be used to contain other non-lethal natural substances, such as tree sap or nectar, which are generally useful as distractionary methods.

^ Due to their streamlined nature, thorn arrows are more accurate than regular arrows, but are, for all intents and purposes, target arrows

^^ Due to the large head, spore arrows are no more accurate than regular arrows. However, due to the reflexive nature with which most plants release their spores, these arrows are faster than normal, and can, with a proper stunt and/or description, be used defencively (e.g. as a counter-attack). These arrows are, for all intents and purposes, fowling arrows
