Discussion
Is there any way to work in Perfected Kata Bracers? Jade, by preference (+5 speed, +5L/+5B), but in a fight against the Deathlord, orichalcum would definitely prove useful. Also, I'm assuming Mantis Form is his Form of choice (since Celestial Monkey doesn't, y'know, do anything), but it's incompatible with armor, and Celestial Godbody specifically restricts its armor exemption to Celestial Monkey.
Otherwise, ick. Well done. -- Hapushet
Oof, both good choices. I forgot that Celestial Monkey's special weapons/armor rule only applied to the use of Celestial Monkey itself. Hmm... Perfected Kata Bracers require dropping the damage-boost from normal Hearthstone bracers, but it might be worthwhile. When I get to my books I'll tweak his artifact list. --FrivYeti
It would definitely be worth it, because you get a damage bonus of +Essence instead of +2, and accuracy besides. Worth the extra 4m commitment to most. Jade lays another 8m commitment, which may not be worth it. -braincraft
Is it really possible to brawl with a Serpent-Sting Staff? Brawling is supposed to be all about using your strength to your best advantage whereas any sectioned weapon needs crazy amounts of dexterity and control to properly use (as shownin the prereqs). I don't feel that just meeting the requirements will allow you to brawl with something like a SSS. Other than that, you've built a mighty enemy that will inspire fear into, well, anyone but FaFL. Nice. -TzalFlameforge
- You can't use the Brawl ability with a Serpent Sting Staff, no, but you can alternate between MA attacks with it and Brawl attacks without it. - FrivYeti
- I see: he has a brawl specialty of "while also using a seven-section staff" not "using a seven section staff." That makes much more sense, thanks for the clarification. -TzalFlameforge
Why is someone named Overly Combative Simian only have a Valor of 3? Bum some BP from somewhere and raise it to 5, or change the name to Slightly Reckless Simian instead. Besides, since we're twinking this guy, I can't see why not. - TonyC
- Ah, I see why not. You want the (IMO misnamed) Celestial Monkey MA. Nevermind. - TonyC
Hmmm... actually, if you go by the text in the PG, you can't have a virtue over 3 while learning the style... NOT after mastering it. It says would grow in its wisdom. Nothing about practicing it. ~ Haku
- Overly Combative Simian didn't see the need to waste good XP on his Virtues. Valor 4 costs 12 XP, man! That's, like, a Charm and a bit! Seriously, though, the Exalts aren't planning to need Virtue rolls. - FrivYeti
- Ah... but a higher virtue rating boosts the power of his monkey style, at least for a few charms...
