The Thirty-Ninth theme is New Organs.
These are Hearthstones which are obligatorily worn inside the body.
Tigers Eye Agate - FlowsLikeBits
- Air Manse 1
- Trigger: Spending Willpower
This excellent stone is a small agate that looks like the eye of a great cat. It may be pressed into the body anywhere and acts like a normal eye. This has no mechanical benefit, other having an eye on a strange part of the body(hand and back of the head are common). This may cause one to be thought of as wyld mutant. In fact, there is a -1 external penalty when percieving something solely with the eye, due to the lack of depth perception. The true power of this eye does not become apparent until the user seeks to excell. When they do, this eye closes in concentration, and adds it's power to the users focus.
Mechanically, when the user spends willpower to buy a success on a roll, or to channel a virtue, this stone adds two dice to the roll if the user channels a willpower, or 1 success if they channel a virtue.
Idaala's Heart - willows
- Solar Manse 2
- Trigger: Danger
This stone is a blue-green, lumpy crystal. When held by a living creature, it beats like a living heart. It may be implanted by cutting the chest open. The incision need not be deep; the heart insinuates itself with its magic, and before long, the bearer's skin becomes very fair and smooth, and his veins can be seen clearly. He has a 1-die bonus to Appearance rolls.
Idaala built her Manse to house her spirit, and the Heart is its centre, the seat of her emotions and instincts. It improves the bearer's ability to sense and react to danger. He may add his Willpower in dice to his Join Battle rolls. Furthermore, if the bearer also carries Idaala's Mind, each time he uses this ability, the combined Hearthstones exert unnatural mental influence on him; it makes a 12-dice attack. The Heart and Mind seek to turn the bearer's will toward restoring Idaala to life.
Water Purifing Stone - Heru
- Water Manse 3
- Trigger: Poison Intake
The appearance of this stone doesn't matter for it only functions when swallowed. Once ingested (the user finds that no matter their size it fits safely down their throat) the wearer is completely immune to poison. These stones are most commonly used by nobles who go on diplomatic missions to foreign territories, for it protects them from poison.
Betcher's Fang - ArabianNinja
- Lunar Manse 4
- Trigger: Concentration
A small saw like stone that is worn inside the mouth. It attaches to the jaw-line which not only strengthens it but allows the attuned wearer to create a venom like the glands of snakes and other venomous creatures, which they are immune to by virtue of the stones presence. The venom is a blinding contact poison which the attuner can spit as a weapon. The vemon is also corrosive. If imprisoned behind iron bars, the attuned could easily chew his way out given a few hours.
Invincible Overseer's Orb (Ikselam)
- Solar Manse 5
- Trigger: None.
This ruby-red sphere emits pulses of light, which shine dimly through even the thickest and most opaque coverings, in time with its owner's heartbeat. A character who attunes the stone will find that her heart quickly crystallizes into a larger replica of it, expanding until it partially erupts from the skin. As long as she remains attuned, she is impervious to harm. Swords rebound from her skin; arrows shatter on her eyes; fire may char her clothing to ash but leaves even the smallest of her hairs untouched. Only blows which strike the orb on her chest have any effect.
Mechanically, the character becomes immune to non-aggravated damage and Crippling effects. The only way to physically harm her is to damage her pectoral orb. Since it is such a small target, attacks made against it are at a -3 external penalty. It has 15L/20B soak and 12L/12B hardness, and is completely immune to environmental damage. When struck by an attack that does at least one level of damage, it briefly flares white, and its user takes one level of unsoakable lethal damage. If the gem suffers 10 or more damage from a single blow, it explodes, its bearer immediately drops to Incapacitated, and all of her wounds become aggravated (this effect also occurs if the hearthstone itself is destroyed or rendered inert).
The Invincible Overseer's Orb does not allow the character to go without food, water, or air, and does not prevent fatigue. Attacks which have effects besides physical damage, but are delivered via touch (e.g., Soul Mastery, Soul-Cleaving Strike, Limb-Immobilizing Method), automatically fail unless they strike the orb. Its effects linger for 24 hours after she loses attunement to the stone, during which time the gem on her chest is gradually reabsorbed.
Comments
So, does my hearthstone makes sense or is it crap. Does it fit first level or should it be higher. - Heru
- I'd make it a 2-3 for complete poison immunity. Probably 3. - FlowsLikeBits
Didn't know what stats to add to the spitting poison bit, but I am open to suggestions. - ArabianNinja
