A Celestial style of martial arts created in the first age by the great medical and acupuncture practitioner Tai-to, or Master of the healthy Points. While he was a genius in curing others, there were many who were jealous of him. He developed this style out of a need to incapacitate his would be assassins without destroying them utterly, so that he could politically embarrass his opponents later on.
Form Weapons
This style uses acupuncture needles.

Other Things
To start learning this style, one must have a minimum medicine of 3. To learn the form charm and beyond, one must have a minimum medicine of 4. To learn the pinnacle, one must have a minimum of medicine 5.
I'm new here and still learning the ropes of the editing tools (after having read them all). Everything is subject to change, especially the fluff (which will be worded better).
This was a martial arts I created for a player in one of my games when they requested something to do with acupuncture. I did some light research into acupuncture, so don't expect this to be accurate.
Charms
Temporary Recover Point
Cost: 2 motes Duration: Essence Minutes. Type: supplemental Minimum Martial Arts: 2 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite charms: none
Stabilizing a friend while in the middle of battle is usually impossible. By striking a friend in the correct location, the friend does not feel the effects of his battle injuries, so that they may better retreat for proper care.
The Exalt must successfully strike a friend (If they choose to defend or not is their choice) Any wound penalties on the target are reduced by the martial artists essence.
Quick with Body
Cost: 3m Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive Minimum Martial Arts: 3 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite charms: Tempoary Recovery Point
The movement of the hands is not the only important thing when applying acupuncture needles. The body itself must be able to move with speed when performing your art.
your Initiative is increased by your Martial Arts.
Resistant Patient Incapacitation Technique
Cost: 2m Duration:Instant Type: Supplemental Minimum Martial Arts: 3 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite charms: none
The Martial Artist strikes out with his needle or fist to disable one who does not wish to be the subject of relaxation.
The attack enhanced with this does Bashing, but adds essence to bashing damage.
Patterns of Disharmony Form
Cost: 5 motes Duration: one scene Type: simple Minimum Martial Arts: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite charms: Quick with Body, Resistant Subject Incapacitation Technique
The Martial artist assumes the form of a discerning medical expert in the middle of chaos. He can see the right spots to allow the Qi to flow or to stop it up.
MA+ is equal to essence, Medicine gets + unmodified MA, and attacks can either be lethal or bashing, your choice. This can not be activated with armor on.
Jing River Strike
Cost: 4 motes Duration: Instant Type: supplemental Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite charms: Patterns of Disharmony Form
The strike must be placed properly, once it is, it blocks up the Qi flow for normal body functions. Those hit start having a fit of coughing, nausea, and other side effects.
At least one health level of damage must be inflicted with this strike. If so, anyone hit by this is at a penalty equal to the exalts essence for the rest of the scene. Only one of this can apply to a target at once.
Slowing the wild Maniac
Cost: 5 motes 1 willpower Duration:Instant Type: Simple Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite charms: Jing River Strike
A further refinement of placement. This strike makes the targets pause for a moment, and then drains the energy to fight.
Another strike, that once connected and does one health level of damage, forces the target to make a willpower+valor roll at a difficulty equal to the exalts essence. If passed, the target keeps on fighting, if failed, the target becomes peaceable and friendly. This effect lasts for a scene, however every round, the target can roll WP+Valor to break free. Targets that keep fighting however, continue to take a bashing damage each turn. These can be removed, but it takes a simple action to remove with a dex+medicine roll at a difficulty of the exalt’s essence.
Spindling Needle Flies
Cost: 2 motes Duration: instant Type: supplemental Minimum Martial Arts: 4 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite charms: Patterns of Disharmony Form.
Once a needle is in a Qi pathway, it calls to other pressure points to be touched. The exalt may let loose another needle that is guided by the previous one.
Requires a target to have a needle in it. The martial artist may make Dex+MA attacks at a range of up Essence X 3 yards. These attacks get to add Essence to their accuracy, as they are being called by the previous needle.
Multiple Point Theory
Cost: 7 motes Duration: Instant Type: Extra Action Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite charms: Spindling Needle Flies
A good acupuncturist must know how to apply a quick succession of strikes if an ailing friend is in need, or a would be opponent is a threat.
The Martial Artist rolls Medicine. Each success is an extra action that can be used to attack, defend, or make medicine checks. This can be combed with medicine charms. An exalt could blow through all of his essence to heal all his party members at once, or to inflict great pain on his enemies.
Body Relaxant Method
Cost: 6 motes Duration: instant Type:reflexive Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite charms: Pattern of Disharmony Form
You can avoid a fatal blow by relaxing against the strike and going with it. A martial artist furthers this concept by striking a pressure point near where his about to wounded to allow his body to roll with the blow beyond normal methods.
Roll Medicine + Perception. Each success reduces damage by one health level from one attack.
Friendly Empowerment Method
Cost: 5 motes Duration:Essence turns Type: supplemental Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite charms: Body Relaxant method
Furthering on the principle of aiding a friend and manipulating the body for positive effects, the exalt can now improve his friends capability beyond their normal abilities. There is a drawback to this however, as it tires the body for a short period of time. The Exalt strikes the target in the proper location to let any doubt or impairment, flow out of them, and confidence surge in them.
Make a normal attack, (If they choose to defend or not is their choice). For essence turns, the target gains essence dice to any task they do. It can be making an attack, casting sorcery, writing an essay. They are empowered and confident, and can not fail valor rolls during this time. However, at the end of essence turns, they receive a penalty equal to the Martial Artists essence for essence turns as their system tries to replenish itself of Qi. At this point, the Martial Artist can strike them again, to have them gain the bonuses, but their penalty will be double if they are still in the recover stage.
Stopping the Shu-Stream.
Cost: 8 motes 1 willpower Duration: instant Type: Simple Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 5 Prerequisite charms: Slowing the Wild Maniac, Multiple Point Theory, Friendly Empowerment Method.
By placing the needle in the proper location, all essence and qi can not flow for an extended period of time.
Make a normal martial arts attack. If it connects and does at least one health level of damage, make a medicine + Perception roll at a difficulty of the target’s essence. If successful, all essence regeneration is stopped for one day. This includes regaining essence by hearthstones, stunting, and lending essence, the body simply can not accept it.
Comments
This is a nice set of charms. I like the flow of them, and how unique it is. I'm impressed indeed. Now, for more nepharious purposes, I could see this being used very effectively as a torture method (not to be offensive). - Zodiak
Please sign your comments, Zodiak. :) On-topic, though, this looks solid, it's always nice to see new people here contributing! - David.
Thanks all. I did a rush job writing it. Yes, it can be used for nepharious purposes, as some of the charms are quite painful, such as Jing River Strike. I'll be adding new things to my page soon as well - PoisonFish
