Tsu-ko-Mei's Sword
Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword
Artifact ****
Red Jade, and Moonsilver Chopping sword
Commitment: 10 or 15
History:The sword was named for, and wielded by a proud Dragon-Blooded servant of "Walks in the Woods" a No-Moon Lunar. Tsu-Ko-Mei served her masters before the deliberative with efficiency, and distinction. Unfortunately this was not to last as the usurpation cast a dark shadow upon the land. Tsu-Ko-Mei unlike most of her brothers and sisters of the Dragon Blooded host would not stand against her masters. She hid herself for three days after which her former master appeared before her. Tso-Ko-Mei's master informed her that the battle was lost and she should join her "kind" so that she would be spared. She refused stating that her place was at his side committing seppuku with her blade on the spot. Walks in the Woods grieved the loss of his favored servant more than that of his Solar wife. He fought with her sword, as a way of honoring Tsu-Ko-Mei's soul, until he was finally killed by one of the ancient defense activated by the Scarlet Empress. The sword has been rumored to have shown up in the hands of various outcaste warlords, but there have been no verifiable reports of it's reappearance.
Unknown to anyone Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword is in Chiaroscuro as the property of the H'kurr a small family of smiths who keep the sword as an heirloom. They have held onto the sword since shortly after the contagion when "Blossoms in Winter" the last wielder settled there. His family has survived, but not prospered, into the recent age. This family has not had a dragon blooded member since Blossoms in Winter so they have not discovered its power.
Description:The slightly curved three foot long Blade of Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword is composed of mirror polished Moonsilver with a wavy edge of blood red Jade. The sword is much thinner than most Daiklaives measuring only 1/4 an inch at its thickest point. Although the blade is still as wide as any other example of a Daiklaive measuring in at 4 inches in width. Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword is guardless with its hilt resting squarely in the center of the blade. The hilt of the sword is constructed of enchanted Ironwood carved into gripping surfaces, it is wrapped in the skins of an unidentifiable red creature with dustings of silver scales
Powers:Once any user attunes to Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword the sword gains the following benefits :
- •The Sword never gets dirty in any way. Liquids just slick off, and solids seem to flake away. The side-effect of this ability is that the blade can never be envenomed, and clinging caustic substances never affect it for more than one round.
- •The wielder may see dematerialized spirits at will - as long as the blade is unsheathed, and in hand-. Although doing so reduces all dice pools by two due to the disorientation of seeing two worlds at once.
- •By spending one turn in concentration, and spending five Motes (which remain commited until the effect is dismissed) the wielder may attack dematerialized spirits for one scene. This ability in no way gives the user the ability to see dematerialized spirits only to combat them. If the use of this ability results in a dematerialized spirit being "killed" it reforms in one day*(weilders permanent essence) inside their domain ,or the underworld analog to the location in which they were just "killed" whichever is most appropriate
A user who can naturally attune to Jade gains these additional benefits :
- •If the Wielder of Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword takes an action to parry he only need one success to succeed on the attempt irregardless of the successes the opponent has achieved. This power fails utterly and completely against any charm enhanced, or magic attack. This power does/will not work in conjunction with reflexive parries of any sort.
- •If a dragonblood Melee Charm is used to enhance any attack, or defence made by Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword its mote cost is reduced by one.
- •Gains the Jade Magical Material Bonus.
A user who can naturally attune to Moonsilver gains these additional benefits :
- •In combat the blade, and edge of Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword flow as blood over water. This effect seeks the cracks in it's targets armor. All strikes with the blade of the sword are Armor Peircing.
- •Changing Moon: If the user spend three Motes while making an attack with the sword subtract four dice from the targets defence against that attack.
- •Gains the Moonsilver Magical Material Bonus.
A user who is attuned to either material (Jade or Moonsilver) may at their option commit another five Motes gaining these additional benefits :
- •If the wielder spends Six motes of essence then strikes, and damages an opponent, or object with active magic's upon it is affected as if Terrestrial circle counter magic had been cast upon it. The resulting backlash from dispelling a Terrestrial Circle spell does not affect the wielder of this weapon if is the result of this power.
- •The User gets an additional melee specialty in:Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword. This specialty is normal in all respects except that it allows it's user to have more than three specialty die in effect at once.
Drawbacks:
- •The eyes of anyone who attunes to Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword begin to glow in the color of their anima banner. This glow is mild, and may be concealed if careful -Equivelent to the 1-3 mote of peripheral essence spent-.
- •If the user is attuned to both material of the sword their eyes not only glow, but become miniture anima displays- ie. A water aspected Dragonbloods eyes may change into pools of darkness that miniture schools of fish swim in-. While this effect is present the weilder is treated as if they had the two point unusual appearance flaw.
- •Neither of the above effects dissapate until the sword is no longer attuned proximity is not an issue.
Tsu-Ko-Mei's Sword has the following weapon stats:
- •Spd+7, Acc+3, Dmg+6L, Def+6, Rate5.
- These stats do not include the Jade, or Moonsilver MM bonuses which are added as the weilder attunes to each material.
Supreme Brilliant Echo
Artifact***
Green Jade and Orichalcum Slashing Sword
Commitment:12
History:This blade was forged only fifteen years ago by the weaponsmith Maru Tarran as the perfect weapon for the Dawn caste warrior Ten-Thousand Shinning Orchids. It was enchanted by the Twilight Sorcerer Gilean as a test of his mystical prowess and theory.
Description: Supreme Brilliant Echo is a wide bladed slightly curved slashing sword with a backswept hilt with a sqaure bladed punch gaurd. The Blade seems to be made of green Jade shot thru with nuggets of molten gold and feather dusted with golden powder. Multi colored beaded silken cords hang from the bottom of the swords hilt.
Powers: Once attuned to the sword the weilder gains the following benifits
- •One with the blade: As this sword was created to perfectly complement Orchids fighting style she gains the following benefits when weilding this Sword +1 bonus to Spd, Acc, and Def.
- •Brilliant Echo: For the cost of 6 motes the sword creates a trail of shadow duplicates. These duplicatse strike with the same effect as the blow that it supplemented except the users Str is not added to the damage of the Brilliant Echo.
- •All Ranged Melee charms cost 2 motes less to a minimum of 1 mote for the weilder, and add the weilders essence to the damage of the attack.
- •All counter-attacks made with Supreme Brilliant Echo gain a bonus to accuracy equal to the weilders permanent essence.
Supreme Brilliant Echo has the following weapon stats:
- •Spd+8, Acc+3, Dmg+4L, Def+3, Rate2 Plus the wilders permanent essence.
- These bonuses do not include the One with the blade, or Orichalcum Magical material bonuses.

Steel-Skin Gi
Artifact***
Martial Arts Uniform
Commitment: 6
History: The Steel-Skin Gi was invented by Naka Quall a Martial artist and sorcerer of the first age. He lamented the vulnerablilty of a dedicated martial artist to the blows of their enimies. His answer to that problem was this artifact. Seeing its effectiveness other solar martial artists either made one for themselves, or had one made for them. These items were common during the mid-first age with masters usually giving one to their students upon graduation.
Description: Steel-Skin Gi's all look different depending on the style of martial arts practiced, and the sorcerer who made them. Although they all have one thing in common they are all loose and flowing. Many having hidden (although mundane) pockets in various place around the Gi.
Powers: Once the Steel-Skin Gi is attuned the wearer gains the following benifits.
- •The Gi flows and changes from silk suppleness to Iron hardness in in an instant in order to protect its wearer. Granting 2L/2B soak as well as providing a one point difficulty increase to hit the wearer. If the wearer has no martial arts ability the difficulty increase applies to their attacks as well.
- •The weave of the Gi focuses the wearers essence into defense grnting him a two dice bonus on martial arts parries.
- •While in a Martial arts form the wearer is granted a bonus to their soak lethal and bashing equal to his permanent essence rating.
- •The wearer of the GI may as a reflexive action become a steel statue completely immovable and as invulnerable as one of the five magical materials. This effect requires the user to commit ten motes of essence. This effect has an indefinite duration lasting as long as the wearer continues to commit essence. However during this state the wearer is barely aware of his surroundings, and completely out of touch with time. The whole experience is like a waking dream. If a wearer is in this "form" for more than 24 hours the wearer must make a willpower roll difficulty 5+1 for every additional week of time spent like this to be able to come out of this state on his own. Serious threats to the wearers existance lower this rolls difficulty by two.
As a side note this artifact does not work with armor of any kind!!
Lesser Arm of Mela
Artifact **
Blue Jade Bracer
Commitment: 4, Level1 air aspected Hearthstone
History:These Artifacts, along with the others in the "Dragons Arm series" were first created during the Shogunate to enhance the powers of the Dragonblooded host. The secret masters of the Immaculate Order the Sidereals first created them to cheaply, and efficiently enhance the soldiers of the new order.

Lightning arc's around both it, and the users hand in a rhythm much like a heartbeat. When attuned it tinkles slightly occasionally wafting frosty steam.

- •reduces the cost of an Air aspected Dragonbloods anima ability to zero.

Five Dragon Plate
Artifact ****
Jade Reinforced Breastplate
Commitment: 8

- •Gift of Fire: +2 to Accuracy with all weapons useable by the Melee skill. This does not mean the wearer has to be using said weapon with the Melee skill, it just means that the weapon has to be able to be used by the Melee skill.
- •Gift of Water: Reduces the mobility penalty of the armor to -0, This gift makes the exalt more "fluid" in his movements giving his opponents a +1 difficulty modifier when attacking him.
- •Gift of Wood: The power of wood infuses the wearer with life granting him an additional -1 health level.
Whirling Lightning Shortswords
Artifact **
Paired Jade Short swords

These weapons were also used by several duelist society of the shogunate era, many of which devised secret martial art styles that used the Whirling Lightning Shortswords.
Description:These straight bladed short swords taper to a point, are constructed of White Jade carefully carved to form three sections. The bell shaped guard of these swords is usually from snow colored glass enchanted to be as strong as steel, and extends down the front of the blade forming a hand guard. The sword are always cool to the touch. Whenever these swords strike miniature lightning arcs form between it and the target.
Powers:When both are attuned to a wielder the following benefits are gained:
- •Each of the Whirling Lightning Shortswords have a setting for a hearthstone.
- •If used paired the swords reduce the penalty for splitting actions for the actions using thw swords only by one. Example: Suppose DB#1 has the swords, and splits his action three times. His first two actions are sword strikes his final action is a dodge. His first action is -2, his second is -3,and his third and final action is -5 as it does not incorporate the swords in anyway. This effect may be enhanced once per round as a reflexive action for the cost of 2 motes per additional point of penalty reduction. No more than the users permanent essence in motes may be spent on this effect.

Nice toys, guy... You plan on using any of these anytime soon, or can I swipe a couple? - Dreaming Nymph
- Thanx!! Yeah i'm kinda gonna be using them so..... - Issaru
- On the Arm of Mela...you should get rid of the "...nor does it reduce the penalties for using a skill untrained..." since Exalted suffer no such penalty, according to the Players Guide. :) - Seiraryu
