Ghost Binding Cascade
Forging the Shackles of Love
Cost:6 motes, 1 Willpower, 1 experience Duration: Instant Type: Simple Min. Occult: 3 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Spirit Sensing Technique, Command the Dead
There are those things that an Abyssal cares for, but can not watch over personally. Their power is more than capable of enslaving and empowering the dead to serve their will. They make a Manipulation + Occult roll (difficulty of the ghost's Essence) to create a new sort of Passion within the ghost. Every success beyond the first provides another dot to the Passion, up to the limit of the virtue the passion is bound with. While this passion functions as a normal one, it does not count against the normal limit of the virute and passions. While the ghost does feel this passion, it need not act as this is not a binding like that of summoning. The passion lasts for 1 day per Essence of the Abyssal.
Call to Bloody Arms
Cost:4 motes Duration: One hour Type: Simple Min. Occult: 3 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Forging the Shackles of Love
Abyssals on occassion require the aid of the forces of the Underworld when dealing with great numbers. With a small sacrifice of blood (causing one lethal Health Level of damage), and a wind of death essence sent to speed the scent, these forces can be rallied to a place. The Abyssal makes a Manipulation + Occult roll. For each success, three ghosts (including hungry) sense what seems to be a feast of bloody essence and rush to it. Of course, they are not compelled to obey the Abyssal otherwise without the use of other charms.
Anchor of the Bound Corpus
Cost:4 motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One week Type: Simple Min. Occult: 3 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Forging the Shackles of Love, Corpus-Rending Blow
With a powerful strike, the Abyssal can anchor a spirit's existance to an object. The Abyssal must strike the spirit with the object. This attack can hit immaterial spirits, but does no damage. The spirit (which does not need to be a ghost) suffers pain as their spiritual essence is drawn to object, as iron is drawn to a lodestone. Every 5 turns they spend outside of (their Essence x 10) meters from the object, they suffer 1 aggravated damage.
Creating the Entrapping Hostel
Cost:8 motes Duration: One day Type: Simple Min. Occult: 4 Min. Essence: 3 Prereqs: Anchor of the Bound Corpus
Abyssals understand that the best sort of protection against the dead is to create a trap they can not escape from. This simple ward allows spectral beings of death essence (ghosts, hungry ghosts, or other creatures of the underworld) into it's area, but then they can not leave. If their Essence is equal or less than the Abyssal's they can not leave it's confines. Of course, the Abyssal can cancel this and free them at the Abyssal's choice.
Comments
Might be fun to have charms that build off of Anchor, making the binding permanent; you could use it (perhaps combined with Crafts?) to forge one-shot or low-power Artifacts, using the ghost or spirits trapped inside as "batteries" for supernatural effects. Just a thought. :) - Ashande
Honestly, I'd thought of that. ^_^ Just had other fun ideas, I needed to act on. I tend to think of something, forget... and eventually put it down once I remember. ~_^ - haren
