Endless Chase
Character Background
As a mortal Endless Chase was named Jekari, and he was very similar in appearance to most of the young men of his village. He had caramel colored skin, dark brown hair the color of tree bark, and hazel colored eyes. Aside from his size, being exceptionally tall and broad, Jekari was the epitome of average. This changed the day that he was chosen to be a champion of Luna.
He had, since his exaltation, four pairs of eyes, the extra sets climbing up his brow. A year after his Exaltation, when Chase had started to improve in both the knowledge and use of his essence, this tell finally became truly pronounced. The pupils of his eyes changed from black to silver, finally starting to draw the attention of people that examined him too carefully. At this time his general appearance also began to change slightly. A hint of grey found its way into the brown that he had always been, and his hair darkened to black.
Recently Chase has grown even more familiar with the powers raging inside him, and has come even further from the form he was born into. His skin is a cross of brown and charcoal grey, though this coloration is generally thought of as uncommon though hardly odd. The irises of his eyes are now similar silver to that of his pupils, though they are sufficiently different that one can tell where they meet with the even brighter part at the center of his eyes. His hair is now kept short and he no longer wears a beard. His friends generally agree that this is a better look for him, taking his appearance a little way apart from the barbarous nature of his past. The only real aspect of him that has not seen any change over the past four years is his size. Chase stands as close to seven feet tall as six, and has a very broad frame, though this is set off slightly by his height and length of limb.
Chase bears one other significant marking, though this one is now barely a year old. His left arm, from just above the elbow all the way down through his hand is a flat, dull grey. This is a mark, similar to a scar, caused by the venomous saliva of the Chimera that was once Nine Lives, a companion of Endless Chase’s first age incarnation. The wound took months to heal, despite Chase’s normal obscene recovery time, and was horribly scarred for months afterwards. Ever since the color of his skin has not returned, nor does he ever expect it to. This strange marking does not bother him, however, as he sees it as a fitting reminder of the stupidity and delusions of immortality he had during his first few years as an Exalt.
The Death of Endless Chase
Endless Chase died in a battle with the Walker in Darkness. Wounded and weakened by the essence of the Deathlord, Chase saw all but one of his companions still and dying on a balcony at the edge of the Void. Hoping they were still alive, he charged the Walker, bound him with his chain and his arms, and dove with the deathlord over the mouth of the void. They struggled as they fell, but Chase's determination kept the Deathlord in his arms until it no longer mattered. Both Endless Chase and the Walker in Darkness perished, consumed by the infinite nothingness of Oblivion.
