Chorifa, the Soil Fertile With Beginnings and Endings
"Into the silence she said: 'There's always an ending, after all.'"
The ground of the demon realm is everpresent, but never forgotten. Chorifa eternally sits and waits, and it does nothing. For it knows that all things must grow from it, and all things will return to it - the victims of Adjoran and the bones of Malfeas alike. Chorifa is the demon realm's stasis and its change. He is ever swallowing everything that rests on it, slowly drawing them down into himself, and yet everything that the cities are made of is pulled from his being. Everything returns to him, is changed, and returns from him. The cities are drawn into him that they do not fill all the space of the realm, and he births the material that malfeas twists into his being.
Even the other Yozi fear him and never stay still on his surface, for they too might be drawn into his incredible depths; and they fear what might be made with such material. The Yozi fear him for he will always remain. The Yozi fear him, for his depths are unplumbed and forever hidden. The Yozi fear him for he is the ending of all things, and he may yet swallow them to produce new and terrible Yozi. This might free those new beings from the ancient pacts that bind them, but none of the Yozi are willing to take that risk, not even the Ebon Dragon.
And so Chorifa rests, the ground on which all the demons walk. Although Kimbery drives her wrath against his shores, although Adjoran's winds scrape his surface bare, although Isidoros walks the forests that spring from his flesh, Chorifa rests, silently, patiently, eternally.
