Exultant Crow Technique
Cost: 2 motes Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Thrown: 3 Minimum Essence: 2 Prerequisite: Seeking Throw Technique
The character looks down at the ground and finds some appropriate improvised thrown weapons - rocks of just the right size to be thrown, smooth stones for a sling or slingshot, sharp twigs for darts, etc. The number of weapons found is equal to the character's Permanent Essence.
Alternately, this can be used to find thrown weapons that haven't hit their target, in which case Permanent Essence x 2 weapons are propelled by sudden bursts of wind into the character's hands.
If the character can't reach the ground (flying, floating on the surface of a really deep river, whatever), this charm cannot be used for finding improvised weapons - the motes are wasted.
Comments Moved From The Old Page
It seems a little mundane, even for Terrestrials. - Trithne
- It's a little mundane, sure, but if you're using a sling or a slingshot, or throwing non-returning chakrams or the like, you might run out of ammunition at the worst possible time. The first part of it lets you nab a little bit of extra ammunition right away - no searching. The second part lets you find thrown weapons in tall grass or snow or something. - Cheyinka
- I would argue that you could use the Wind Weapons Charm to create ammunition for a sling or slingshot. (Of course, I'm the sort who would let a DB treat weapons summoned with Wind Weapons as his favored Thrown weapon, at least in terms of applying specialties.) - David.
- Those'll go away, though, right? And Wind Weapons costs 3 motes per weapon, instead of 2 motes for at least 2 weapons, and it also requires Thrown 5 instead of Thrown 3. I kind of wanted this to be a bridge there, so that someone wouldn't be in the position of needing ammunition now and being unable to get it.
