Coalescing his anima into madly spinning sigils and equations, the Infernal can put finishing touches to an object of his creation. Anyone taking it apart will find gearboxes filled with revolving theories and foundations of glowing conjecture. When making an extended Craft roll, the Infernal may make an additional, instantaneous roll and add the resultant successes normally. | Coalescing his anima into madly spinning sigils and equations, the Infernal can put finishing touches to an object of his creation. Craft Charms
Affinity For Impossibility
- Cost: 3 motes per reduction
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Supplemental
- Minimum Craft: 2
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: None
No feat is impossible for an Infernal artisan; the most improbable, most unnatural creations are as straightforward to make as the most mundane. Every 3 motes spent before making an Intelligence + Craft or Dexterity + Craft roll by the Exalt reduces the difficulty of the task by 1, to a minimum of 1.
Maddened Science Method
- Cost: 3 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Supplemental
- Minimum Craft: 3
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Affinity For Impossibility
Using this Charm, an Infernal can incorporate unusual or symbolic items into his work as a replacement for more mundane materials. An oath written on paper is strong enough to be used as structural material, a live heart becomes a power source and an eye becomes a sensor. This allows the Infernal to work without access to requisite materials, provided he can acquire suitable metaphorical replacements – and excellent replacements (a Deceiver’s oath, a nurse’s heart or a hawk’s eye) are treated as excellent materials.
Turning The Razor's Edge
- Cost: 5 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Supplemental
- Minimum Craft: 3
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Maddened Science Method
In any race, a step back by your opponent is a step forward for you. Infernals with knowledge of this Charm can sabotage their rivals with supernatural prowess; they must still make the changes necessary to undermine an object, but this Charm covers up all evidence of the act. Regardless of testing or examination, the object in question will not show signs of sabotage until it is actually used. Only a creature using Charms designed to look for weakness (such as Fault Finding Scrutiny) can see through the spiteful illusions this Charm creates, with a Perception + Craft check against a difficulty equal to the Infernal’s Essence score.
Taunting Demon Finish
- Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Supplemental
- Minimum Craft: 5
- Minimum Essence: 3
- Prerequisite Charms: Turning The Razor's Edge
With a touch, the Infernal can add a malignant element to any object or device, instilling it with his own hatred. It will show occasional signs of disrepair, but nothing worthy of concern. However, at the most crucial moment it will fail its possessor; swords break, armour joints buckle or fall away, carriages lose wheels and doomsday devices activate of their own accord. Magical items will become deattuned unless their attunement cost is immediately repaid. With the use of Essence-detecting Charms (such as All-Encompassing Sorcerer’s Sight) and a Perception + Craft check against a difficulty equal to the Infernal’s Essence score, the curse can be detected but is otherwise invisible.
Profane Illumination
- Cost: 5 motes
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Reflexive
- Minimum Craft: 3
- Minimum Essence: 2
- Prerequisite Charms: Maddened Science Method
The Infernal receives a bolt of inspiration as to how to finish his project. This Charm may be activated at any point in the planning of a project, and immediately finishes the planning stage. However, it also requires awkward changes in the composition or method of creation for the plan to work. The greater the number of successes remaining in the planning stage, the more bizarre and rare the reagents necessary or more ludicrous the circumstances, but the Storyteller is the final arbiter. If the Infernal does not like the requirements of the new plan, he may ignore it and continue mundane planning as normal.
Superiority Of Conjecture Approach
- Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
- Duration: Instant
- Type: Supplemental
- Minimum Craft: 5
- Minimum Essence: 4
- Prerequisite Charms: Profane Illumination, Taunting Demon Finish
Coalescing his anima into madly spinning sigils and equations, the Infernal can put finishing touches to an object of his creation. Anyone taking it apart will find gearboxes filled with revolving theories and foundations of glowing conjecture. When making an extended Craft roll, the Infernal may make an additional, instantaneous roll and add the resultant successes normally.
