Your girlfriend got you hooked on Exalted? That's a story one doesn't hear every day! ^_^ --Ikselam
Yeah, I could've bought it first but didn't (I do more World of Darkness really) and she like... wouldn't stop talking about it so I gave in and got a new fav. game outta the deal. Not complaining, though, in the least. -- MidKnight
Hey, don't be so down on yourself about your charms and artifacts. Keep working on them. Hell, it takes me three or four tries before I get mine right. You just gotta work on 'em. ~Mailanka
It also helps to just spew the damn things out and learn from your mistakes. No one gets it perfect the first time, and learning always goes faster with feedback. _Ikselam
I'm always overly hard just because it helps me process better. Kinda like getting down to the last day on a project or the like, the pressure helps me focus. But I'm trying to learn, using the guidelines Mailanka posted on the WW boards and just common sense when I can. Currently I'm trying to work up Charms to let Solars pull ambient Essence from Creation and/or from their own health levels (as DBZ as they both sound) -- MidKnight
I remember Brandon posted a mote-recharging Charm on the WW Forum. It just speeded up the natural regen rate. I told him that it should only work if the Solar was exposed to direct sunlight; he thought that was a good idea.
I think such things would probably go under Lore, or more logically, Endurance (branching off from Essence-Gathering Temper.\\ _Ikselam
The way I was going (I was aiming them for under Lore, somewhat emulating Elemental Empowerment Tech.) is they could draw a set amount in from Creation (since they are supposed to be the lords of it) but when they are underground or it's night or what have you (whenever the UCS isn't visible) the amount they can gather is halved. My reasoning being is no matter how great they are the Sun is still their patron, so there needed to be a connection. -- MidKnight
You could just say they need a large lightsource, like at least a large bonfire (or bigger) or the sun in order to use the charm. A charm to internalize light as essence is very in-theme for solar, I think. By the way, MidKnight, no need to double-square-bracket your name, since it's already a WikiWord. :) \\ -- DaveFayram
Possibly, so far I'd only really gotten the Essence spread worked out so it wasn't terribly powerful, but wasn't something that would be needlessly glossed over. I was aiming it at an Essence 3 charm, at that point you spend out three motes to get 14, but only have a limited number of times you can use it before it's causing you harm. Eventually it was going to be a pack of them that refined itself for either more motes or less worry when using them, but nothing is set for sure. When I've got something more established for it I'll post it for everyone, but at the time it's still only a step above the skeleton of it. And thanks for the tip, I wasn't too sure if I needed 'em or not. -- MidKnight
