Premise and Introduction
I don't think it's any secret that I am not satisfied with Lunars as they were printed. It's past time for someone in the community to craft a revision of the Lunar Exalted from the ground up, and as far as I know, no-one has done so yet. I think it's often looked upon as too large a project to be undertaken, but it needs to be done. Hopefully, I can overcome my usually narrow vision and lack of creativity to create a worthwhile supplement for the game, and can move this off the Wiki and onto a PDF.
Now, this project is in the earliest of stages, and I haven't yet quite pinned down the exact place of the Lunar Exalted in the setting, nor have I really settled on what their real archetype is. Those are the first orders of business, for obvious reasons. I feel sure that the mechanics will more readily fall into place once I have a place and a style in mind.
Comments and suggestions are not only welcome, but encouraged. For this to be a successful endeavor, it needs to suit the general feeling of how Lunars should be handled, not just my whims and fancy.

Well... I AM working on Faint Moon and THAT is a complete revision of the Lunars. Some might call it heretical, lowering the lunars to the level of DBs. But it's going to be a full on project, complete with history, write-ups, character generation as well as a full on charm system. ~ haku
- Ack, that's right. I had forgotten about that one, many apologies. I think that's a rather different approach. I'm (at the moment, anyway) going to try to stick with what material appeared in the corebook regarding the Lunar Exalted, and I do intend to keep them Celestial-level. - David.
- It's okay... besides, I would be interested to see what you can make of the lunars as per the core book. ^_^

Pretty cool. I'll be interested in seeing where this goes. I know how you feel about project size, as, well E2 pretty much killed any drive for me. Personally, I viewed Lunars as firmly in the Celestial camp. They were mates and counterparts to the Solars, and filled similar roles, as rulers and god-kings alongside the Solars. While the Solars were specialists, climbing their charm tree's led to greater heights of capability and eventual perfection, the Lunars were generalists. Their shapeshifting ability, and attribute based charms allowed them to reach Dragon Blooded levels of competence in a great many areas all at once. Capable of reforming their very nature to correspond to the task at hand, they were almost never caught without an option. While they lacked the strenght of the Solars, they also lacked weakness. This allowed them to easily change from rulers to survivors in the threshold. This also made them more subtle than the Solars.
Anyway, that's my thoughts. Not sure where your going, but hopefully it might be usefull. -FlowsLikeBits
