"If you would be so kind, please do not bother me. I feel the vestiges of a brilliant idea in my mind."
Mnemon Kybele was born on the year of 746 RY, son of Dragon-Blooded parents both. From his early years he was considered promising and remarkable, a studious, obedient child that would bring even more prestige to his Great House. As his skill with numbers flourished and his interest in matters arcane grew, his parents fantasized of their young prodigy following the footsteps of their most wise and most powerful ancestor and founder.
But, Kybele was not touched by the Elemental Dragons.
To call it a disappointment would be an understatement. Kybele's parents became laughingstock after years of praising their most talented child. It would be a lie to say he was not interested in the field, but the real reason Kybele asked his parents to let him study architecture in Tuchara was simply so that they would not have to bear with each other any longer.
Regardless of his unExalted status, Kybele was no less talented. His initial interest in architecture and the geomantic arts became an obsession, and when he had the time he engaged in ambitious personal projects of geomantic mapping and engineering, purely for academic reasons.
Yet, as he learned more of the distribution of natural Essence in the Blessed Isle, he began to see patterns. Stable configurations of geomantic flow that most likely preceded most manses in the Realm. In fact, he believed the Realm-made manses were, consciously or not, designed so that they would be compatible with the pre-existing configuration of Essence flow.
He was not so pretentious as to believe he was the first to notice this. And he quickly understood why these facts remained hidden: the artificial arrangement of dragon lines in the island-continent was most likely a product of the First Age, and directly connected with the unbelievable powerful weapons systems in the Imperial Manse. Furthermore, he could see that the lines in the Blessed Isle were just the heart of a multi-layered setting. To see the full picture, he would have to map the entirety of Creation. It was, then, with a smile that he accepted an offer to work as an architect and Realtor in far-off Greyfalls. While his family and House saw it as his final fall from grace, he saw it as an unique opportunity. This ambitious perspective, and the possibilities he imagined if the First Age geomantic engineering reached the scope he believed it had, were the triggers for his Exaltation as a Chosen of the Unconquered Sun.
Upon awareness of his new status, he abandoned all pretense of becoming a nameless worker for the Realm and took off to explore the East and continue his geomantic mapping project. He dreams of harnessing Creation's Essence flows and using them to secure his world from the rapacious expansion of the Wyld, forever. He dreams of building manses the likes of nothing the Realm's architects have built before. He dreams of a society fully powered by ambient Essence, the way he imagines the time before the Contagion must have been. And he wonders if his new knowledge and skills might even lead him to the answer to a question he has kept in the back of his mind for almost ten years already.
A precious, if a bit ephemeral childhood friend; a young, charming girl he had the chance to play with a few times in his childhood, and who left a strong impression on him with her lovely smile and cheerful demeanor. She disappeared without a trace almost ten years ago, he has absolutely no clue what happened to her, and her family would most definitely not tell him anything. However, should he find the slightest trace of a clue regarding the disappearance of lovely, little and heinously forgotten Lillun, he would most definitely go after it.
Kybele currently aims to find companions to travel with. Exalted or whatever, he doubts he can finish his most ambitious mission traveling on his own.
Appearance: Kybele is surprisingly buff for a man of lore, most definitely a consequence of the Dynast education system. Very tall and definitely handsome, Kybele also knows it is always useful and convenient to make a good first impression, so he keeps his caramel hair neatly trimmed and orderly. He prefers wearing long, flowing clothes, for the savant image they exude as much as for the advantage of concealing his armor and blade. For clothing colors he is partial towards violet, most likely a reference to Mnemon herself.
Anima: A giant golden and platinum spider.

Kybele's Contacts rating corresponds to acquaintances within House Mnemon. He is still attuned to his family's manse, and still carries a Hardened Spirit Gemstone with him. He would like to replace his suit of armor (a rather telling family gift) with a more appropriate protective garment. His second artifact, the Geomantic Dowser, is a rather plain wand of steel with a core of all the different types of jade. As long as its owner remains attuned to it (costing 1 mote), the wand will constantly point towards the nearest manse or demesne.
Kybele is an starting character with an additional 15 XP (used to purchase the specialties).
