The Soul Eye

Soulsteel Eyepiece
Artifact • • • •
Commitment cost: 3 motes

A soulsteel eyepiece that sits around the eye of the wearer, The Soul Eye can not only see, directly, the souls of those upon who it looks, but can wither them away with a gaze, leaving lifeless husks in it's wake, sending the soul directly to Oblivion and to its final, eternal demise.

Constructed of Soulsteel and black Jade, The Soul Eye appears as a cresent moon shape that affixes directly to the face, with glyphs carved upon it's surface in Old Realm, that glow with a baleful blue light when active. Upon attuning 3 motes to it, The Soul Eye adheres to the face, and will not fall off, nor can it be forcibly removed without actually cutting the bearer's face apart. While dormant, it merely provides the ability to see souls within the living around the bearer. The souls of the Exalted glow more brightly than those of mortals, and animal souls barely register as a glimmer. Ghosts glow with a faint luminesence, as do spirits and demons.

However, by looking directly at someone's soul and spending 8 motes, the bearer can activate The Soul Eye's power, casting an imperceptible blue light upon the target soul, visible only by the Eye itself, and to Essence Sight. This is treated as an attack with an accuracy of +5, damage of 10A, and a rate of 1, which cannot be improved by any means. The Soul Eye cannot affect targets furthur away than 50 yards, which is considered its Range statistic. This attack is unparriable by any means, unless the parry is supplemented with a Charm that allows attacking of dematerialised targets, such as Spirit-Cutting Attack. The damage is only soakable with natural soak, and if someone is slain by the Eye, their soul is sucked into Oblivion directly, never to be reincarnated.
