The Autocthonians have a different technological vibe. Mountain Folk are more clanking engines of inscrutable alien purpose, while Autocthonians are more dystopic industrial.

Musically, when I hear the soundtrack of the Mountain Folk, it's a cross between operatic Scandinavian death metal and Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King." It's sweeping and percussive, deeply fatalistic and frenzied. They chant as they march to die, with workers buzzing like twitchy gnomes on speed throwing ores into the fires and pumping bellows in teams.

Autocthonians are are a mix of industrial and techno. When a Soulsteel Caste comes into a building with his oily-black trenchcoat covering the bulges of weapon Charms, Nine Inch Nails is playing softly in the background. When his ruby oculars glow as they detect Gremlins, I expect to get a heavy electronica beat right before the tazer claws pop out.
