Sangurio Destheme

by Moxiane

"Sangurio? Yeah ... he was nice ... very nice to me ... To the other girls, too. He was soooo nice ..."
Violet, former harlot
"... his latest composition is yet another masterpiece. The interwoven sounds of trumpet and sanxian meld together into a waterfall of music that quite simply takes ones breath away. Sangurio Destheme has surpassed himself once again with ..."
excerpt from The Artiste, a noted Nexus arts review paper

Widely hailed as a genius painter and sculptor, playwright and musician, Sangurio has been the talk of the literati in Cinnabar for the last ten years. Ever since his explosive debut with the play “Burning Ghost and the Rainbow”, a story of tragic love that first played in the famous Redstone Theatre and which left its audiences awash with tears, he has gone from success to success, shifting mediums in a way that makes many other performers and artists green with envy.

In the last decade he has penned five more plays, carved three major sculptures, exhibited collections of his paintings twice and written four major musical pieces, the most recent of which, simply called, “The Third Assault”, has been acclaimed for its complex, interweaving melodies that seem to transport the listener to a place of pure sound. Two years ago he became a resident of the Plaza of Rising Stars, and his tall house is often besieged by adoring fans, especially after a new work has just been released, something that Sangurio is surprisingly tolerant of (and that his neighbours despise).

Rumours

  • There is a “lost” seventh Destheme-penned play, one that was so bad he burned every copy he could find before it was put on-stage. There were, however, three copies of the manuscript that avoided this arson.
  • Sangurio was known to frequent the Harlotry in the Nexus district, but of late he hasn’t been seen there.

Secret

  • Sangurio Destheme is a Fae-blooded, one whose gifts give him the ability to create truly transcendent art, in almost any medium he cares to work in. Unfortunately, the same blood that makes him a creative genius also requires him to feed as his Wyld-spawned parent did – on the emotions of others.
