Magic Island. A year ago it was simply a ruined first age building on a breakwater. Now it is a splendid palace of a night club, restaurant, and theater. As it's name implies, many of the shows are various types of magic acts, but there are also acrobatics, music, comedy routines, dancing, pretty much any type of entertainment that can been seen in Cinnibar.

The building was designed to look like a Manse or First Age structure, impressive and harmonious. The main hall is a large (some would say cavernous) room, with well spaced round tables and a large stage that dominates one whole wall of the room. the remaining walls and balcony are decorated with various objects: occult symbols, magical paraphernalia, old advertising posters for various acts, and framed portraits of famous customers and performers, including such luminaries as Delos Ferrano. Those who wonder why there is a picture of Icefire Snapdragon on the wall and not her rather more well known sister usually put it down to Zahra's famously strange sense of humor.

Which brings us to Zahra, the owner of the establishment and an amazing magician. A Southerner who arrived in Nexus a little over a year ago, she is known for her flamboyant and eccentric personality. She dresses in revealing costumes that mix Southern and Eastern styles. She engages in marathon bargaining sessions over trinkets, yet accepts the first price offered on expensive merchandise. However, as all those who have patronized her establishment can tell you, her act is truly amazing and often includes acrobatics, escapology, mentalism, and close up, in addition to the more standard stage magic. Her most well known trick is one where she appears to grasp the moon and turn it into a rabbit.

The food is well made in a variety of styles, but the Southern dishes are inarguably the best. The staff is polite and quick. The girls selling cheap magic tricks and various other things like "hair restorers" and "potency increasers" demonstrate the tricks with decent skills and deft hands. All in all it is one of the hot new places to see and be seen in Nexus.

Secret

• Zahra is secretly a Lunar Anathema and some of her more spectacular effects are only possible for a person who can turn into a rabbit or hide things elsewhere.
