Hurricane Rebellion

The Hurricane rebellion was a religious uprising of the strictest sort and beaten down with the strictest ease. It all began with, as many religious rebellions do, a slightly unhinged man. Child of a harlot and Gleaming Crystal, God of the Gray River, he had a strange childhood. His father never met him, and he never his met his dad, and his mom made up some stories about a Water Aspect Dragonblood being his dad. With such a pedigree behind him, this young boy named Joyous Hurricane felt himself a bit better than everyone else.
His life progressed simply, he eventually thought that he was infact an Exalt due to his minor God blood powers and ran away from home thinking himself powerful enough to live on his own. And he was. Everyone wanted to be in the gang with a Dragon Blooded kid, nobody would mess with you then. The praise, the attention, the power, it all got to his head. When he became an adult he took his ego to the next level, he started a cult.
Proclaiming himself the direct descendant of a Daana'd that had returned to Creation to help restore goodness and prosperity, Hurricane was his child and represenative in this Realm. He would lead all of the faithful to glory and all that. Strange thing about this cult was that he actually picked up a number of people, not excluding Flittering Shroud (who wasn't to hard to pick up). The next very logical step in the development of a cult is some massive form of suicide or other destructive behavior. Hurricane choose rebellion.
With a motley band of "warriors of Danaa'd" he marched down the Cobblepaint Avenue and was intercepted by a group of warriors from the Seven Hills Mercenaries in full battle array. Hearts quavered and a poor man with a paint shipment was caught in the middle. Harvin Lorshim, the simple paint merchant, watched on as Hurricane advanced and called out a challenge to Eldara Vulcina an outcaste Fire aspect who led the company's Nexus force.
In her fury and rage at this insolent cult leader, she brutally attacked him even though he was unarmed. Fire burst from her feet as she rushed foward. In panic Harvin Larshim ran and toppled over his own cart of paint. The fire left from Eldara's charm heated the paint enough that it dried on the spot all over the street. And with one slice, she decapitated Hurricane with Crashing Summer's Thunder. The whole movement had little impetus after that.
Rumours
- Joyous Hurricane was actually a direct son of Danaa'd, his martyrdom was simply a relgious act of devotion. He now is a God and is fighting the good fight against the souls of Anathema as they leak out of the prison.
- Eldara and Hurricane were one time lovers and they both were trying to settle a bloody and touchy lover's quarrel. She obviously won.
Secret
- Gleaming Crystal actually manipulated his son with secret visitations and visions to revolt and form a cult. It was a deal Crystal had with the God of Heresy Profane Whispers that the river god would cause a religious disturbance in Nexus in exchange for an invitation to some Celestial parties that the Creation-based God wouldn't be able to attend any other way.
